In which we finally reach the 21st century.
Last week's issue here:

Last time, Aric ended in the Colosseum (to avoid any confusion that this was Rome) facing a squad of Italian special forces. Let's see how that works out.

But first, space.

Apparently there are wolves in space.

This is a digitally altered photograph, right? I'm not I like the mix of styles here.

By this point, you'd think he might have noticed some anachronisms.

Hmm - he doesn't really 'shunk' in later comics.

That's a weird way to answer the question.

And that's that.
Next week, while we leave Aric to find his way around in the 21st century, we're going to have a look around elsewhere at what else was going in during the 2012 launch, starting with my favourite - Harbinger.

Thanks.

Psychic reading or something I suppose.

I like that Valiant has been getting more exposure on Zig Forums they got me back into Capeshit around 2012-2013 but I've fallen behind with them recently since the Chinese bought them.

>I've fallen behind with them recently since the Chinese bought them.
So I haven't read up to that point. I'm only up to 2015, and am a little concerned from what I've heard that it;s all going to go to shit in a couple of years
Oh well, nothing lasts forever. 2012-2015 Valiant has been peak capeshit in my opinon - that's why I started doing this once a week.

I'm surprised they never got good amount of mainstream attention since they had some fantastic runs that time along with loads of talented people like Jeff Lemire and Matt Kindt writing for them. I would say my top three Valiant books are: Harbinger, Imperium, and Britannia.

Just read Imperium - loved it. I like how many of these comics take the idea of superheros while ignoring its conventions. One reason I'm concerned about the current editors - saw a press release that the new Harbinger would be taking a more traditional superhero approach.
Why would you do something so stupid? 'I have a unique product here, so I decided to make it more like everything else.'

If it's not DC/Marvel, the mainstream don't care.
>Why would you do something so stupid? 'I have a unique product here, so I decided to make it more like everything else.'
They want the DC/Marvel audience.
