>Watching Wonder Woman 1984, I couldn’t help but think of the utter hollowness of representation and how corporations have adopted the language and posture of political movements in order to sell back to us a vacant rendition of the change we actually want. In many ways, studios have trained audiences to view the bombast of their blockbusters as possessing inherent worth — especially when they place reflections of us on the big screen. This isn’t good filmmaking. And as more and more exciting directors get caught up in the gears of this mammoth genre, I can’t help but reflect on how their talents would be better utilized elsewhere.
OH NO
Not like this.... not like this.....
This is getting interesting. SJWs have been seeing themselves as actually having a voice and being able to make a global change in this world. Now they're starting to catch up to the fact that this is just a beautiful lie told them by those in power. What will happen next?..
They in fight between themselves on a larger scale. Theres little squabbles here and there since forever but now its them vs them and I'll be laughing the entire way.
Still better than any of the MCU movies.
>it's okay when marvel does it
I appreciate your dedication to turning a Zig Forums thread into a company wars thread
Unironically, yes, it's okay when Marvel does it
>implying the turn against Marvel isn't inevitable
It might even already be starting. Remember, Disney is an extremely easy company to hate.
Not sure , Need to see it first
MCU is untouchable though, just like Olsen' tits
I’m so confused. This reminds me of Cyberpunk 2077.
>demand to add transgender people
>games puts in option to have penis or vagina
>claim the game is transphobic now
People do what they want and they still complain? Why
>I couldn’t help but think of the utter hollowness of representation and how corporations have adopted the language and posture of political movements in order to sell back to us a vacant rendition of the change we actually want.
They're just now figuring it out?
i dont know what these words mean
No, Disney fans are a cult. Remember they responded to the announcement of a dozen new shows for Star Wars and Marvel with wonder and amazement. Not fatigue and questioning if any will be good.
>And as more and more exciting directors get caught up in the gears of this mammoth genre, I can’t help but reflect on how their talents would be better utilized elsewhere.
Yes, very true but it really took these critics a while to figure this out.
ESL?
Is WW1984 even political? What exactly are the political messages in it?
>People do what they want and they still complain? Why
That's just it, they're whole motivation is complaining. They like attention-whoring and getting away with bullying.
I don’t get it.
Because if they stop complaining, they stop getting attention.
How the fuck is that hard to understand?
>starting to catch up the fact that this is just a lie told them by those in power
I've never met a leftist, or even liberal for that matter, that seriously thinks corporations give a shit about making changes towards social justice. It's just capitalism.
It promotes women bush
Who writes 100% reviews for Black Panther on Rotten Tomatoes then?
Every reviewer agrees the movie is a nonsensical mess by the way
I think there are certain type of people who expect movies to save the world, and then a movie comes out that seems like it might save the world, and then they get really grumpy when they see that it's just a fucking movie and is not likely to inspire any sort of societal change because literally no fucking movie has ever done that ever, except maybe Star Wars and that was more economy-based than cultural or political
Complaining is unironically a means of having power over things for these people, they want to enjoy the feeling of something/someone bending to their will no matter what it is.
That's why it's stupid to give in to what they want to begin with, they just care about complaining, not solving problems. The cover of SJWism is just the latest weapon of convenience for these people.
People who thought it was a good movie, such as the majority of people who saw it.
But Zig Forums told me the 80s were cool
So good it deserves to be in the top 10 movies on the site?
We sit back in the big ice house and watch them fight each other. You guys like furikake on your popcorn? I'll make a big batch.
Sure? It's not like Rottentomatoes means shit, that list also has Toy Story 4, Endgame, Mission Impossible Fallout, and Lady Bird.
But enough of Captain Marvel, lets talk about Wonder Woman...
This is how I realized the difference between fans and nutjobs. I've been reading comics for longer than most redditors have been alive and all I felt at seeing that pic was dread that they were going to beat the horse to oblivion. I'm sure some of them will be fine. We didn't need this many, this fast.
How they going to take Carol down a peg or two in the sequel?
Maybe I've gone crazy, but when I saw those spreads I didn't feel excitement. I felt horror, that Disney is trying to farm so much money from me.
Can she be humbled? it's the only way for CM to survive right now
