If germans are so rich, why do they fill our 2-3 star hotels in summer?
If germans are so rich, why do they fill our 2-3 star hotels in summer?
we're poor, give us money
the real question is why the fuck do we take tourists in?
maybe those are the new germans
>implying living in a 3 star hotel is bad
1) most Germans aren't rich at all. The state of Germany is rich because it's a huge economy, the average German just has average money to spend.
2) 2-3 star hotels in Italy are not very cheap at all when you're staying there with the whole family. And it's not like there are enough 5 star hotels for all of Germany to begin with
>If germans are so rich
We aren't.
We are slightly more than Italians and we spend it on rent instead of a mortgage so in the long term we are poorer than you.
why should they pay for a five-star hotel if all they need is a decent bed to sleep in, the rest of the day they'll be out of the hotel
Probably so mr Luigi the OP can increase the profit margins or something
Germans love everything as cheap as possible
Because they literally sustain a fifth of your economy directly, possibly a third indirectly :r)
I think Germans are just very frugal, or like to live an "adventurous" holiday
When I used to go camping in Croatia they were the ones living on canned food for days in tiny tents, making makeshift showers and so on
Part of their autism I guess but not a bad thing per se
>
most rich people are rich because they don't waste money. also med countries are not really countries people go to to have luxurious holidays
We are not rich on average.
Most people I would guess can not save more than 500€/month. Now do one 2 week holiday in a nice 4+* hotel and literally half of your years savings are gone.
How do Italians go on holiday? You spend 90% of your budget on a hotel and then stay there?
yes
Unless you go all-inclusive (which only poor people do) over here a hotel is considered more of an unwanted expense you try to save money on so you can maximize the money you can spend on dining and other things.
Personally I like to spend a lot and get a nice hotel and maybe stay fewer days
Although getting something like an Airbnb to live an adventure with some friends is fun too and getting more popular I think
cuz we stupid
Well that's the total opposite of how we roll. Maybe really old people or really rich people have no problem going to expensive hotels but people here always make sure to get the most value out of their hotel and that's either by getting Airbnb or a 2-3 star hotel.
well what's the point of spending a lot on your room when ideally you spend as little time as possible there unless it's some kind of wellness shit but that's probably not something you'd go to Italy for anyway
Interesting. I guess it's just a different mentality
Yeah it must be. Why do you dislike 2-3 star hotels in the first place? I've never been to a better rated hotel but to be fair when my hotel has airconditioning and is clean I'm fully content.
Idk I feel like I wouldn't enjoy my vacation if the place was subpar
A nice hotel is an holiday experience in itself
every hotel thats under 3 stars in complete trash, trust me
Lots of people view excessive luxury as decadent, at least the boomers, and dress modest and functional.
But the price difference between hotels is just staggering high. It's not a matter of €5 per night you're saving.
I mean you do you but to me getting Airbnb or cheap hotels makes total sense
Probably one of those things you can't come back from
If you never worked in tourism you probably havo no idea how obsessed they are with money. Even a 50cent difference in price is enough for them to feel like you're stealing from them.
They always have to read all the contracts/agreements until everything is clear, they really don't trust anyone.
If the broker (booking, Expedia, etc) messes a reservation rate and there is a 2 euro tax that they did not expect, they'll literally call the police on you and throw a tantrum in front of all other guests.
Americans don't even ask for the price, they just don't care. If you tell them you charged them 50 euros extra for a service they didn't need, they don't care because they're on holiday and don't wanna be stressed.
I don't know why they're like that, they're not poor at all.
most Italians don't go on holidays, it's not the 70s and 80s anymore when everyone rented a house near the beach for a whole month.
i dont know anyone who visits shitaly thats such a 60s thing
Wish we had cops like that.
>I don't know why they're like that, they're not poor at all.
I wish we weren't like that, but we are. Not to mention there is the constant idea here everywhere else is trying to prey on our hard earned money so certain people (read: bottom 80% of our society) is extremely triggered when abroad.
Italy it's fucking expensive for tourists with have shitty services. You really enjoy this shithole when money is not an issue.
literally me and one of the reasons i avoid traveling to non german regions they always try to fuck you over if they recognize you are a tourist
Biggest rip-off in my live unironically happened on a 2 day trip to Cologne.
Because they don't go on holiday to stay inside, I agree with them.
is that english? what the fuck
Same. I want to travel to see stuff and maybe meet people, not the insides of the hotel
Tourist niggas b like
>55€ for a carbonara with mushrooms and cream? Wow this is amazing I love Italy so much what a nice country la dolce vita oh laaaa laaaa
Not true. Usually Americans and Japanese tourists get fucked because of the different currencies. Nobody tries to steal your hard earned money here. When we know some of you guys are coming we're like "let's hope everything is fine with the reservation, we don't wanna deal with their bs".
Just relax, you're on holiday ffs
Imagine overhearing stories from Dutch families bravely defending their wallets from the Turkish onslaught after they spend 2 weeks there on some €300 all-inclusive resort and the guy driving them back to the airport wants €5
das rite, I'm getting a bit too old for hostels but that's how I traveled most of the time, now I get cheap rooms in Airbnb.
the average italian thinks like
Because they want to stay rich.
>Nobody tries to steal your hard earned money here
They were japanese tho
I don't know i never had such a problem with Dutch tourists. They're more rude than the German but at the end of the day they're bros. If they complain they do it for legitimate reasons, not for a 50cent charge.
this happens everywhere, much more so in poor countries.
Dutch people pay the 50 cents and then switch to Dutch to inform everyone to be on high alert as they just entered the thief's den. I know this because I'm Dutch
Yes, it's always Japanese and Americans, as I said.
I paid 60 euros for two beers and a taco platter in the Netherlands.
Kek I think the restaurant owner got fined at the end though
Kek
Even though that sounds stupidly excessive we do not have any type of special rules such as "you pay more if you sit down" or inflated prices on English menus.
If that happened in Amsterdam or some places in The Hague/Rotterdam/Utrecht I can believe it though, prices there are rising so quickly and absurdly different from the rest of the country it's insane. They do tests every year to see how much it would cost to buy 1 bottle of wine and 6 beers or whatever and Amsterdam often is like €20 more than #2
