Catholicism literally is the birth of science lmao. The whole concept of spiritual reality vs physical reality and the concept of universal truth is basically what drove the whole europe into the quest of knowledge of the physical reality and world. Newton himself dedicated himself towards finding the laws of God, and pretty much every philosopher including in the enlightenment dedicated their quest for knowledge towards finding hint of God's Universal laws

Euclid of alexandria is not christian for example. And his book is prime example of logic and science.
Greeks and roman empire in its golden age were not christians and had achieved and contribute so much to science long before christianity.

It's because Asian faiths aren't really about universal truth but more about self-enlightenment. Also Shinto is basically everything and nothing at the same time, it's mostly folk tradition, the real asian "religion" in the end is mostly derived from Buddhism, which views the world in a completely different manner from Christianity, especially in regard to the concept of reality and ascetic enlightenment.

Buddhism basically says a person achieves enlightenment by achieving nothingness, while Catholicism basically says that one achieves sainthood by being perfectly united with Christ, which is the natural and mystic order of the universe.

Also Buddhism doesn't view spirtual and physical reality, nor the soul and body as separate as catholicism does. Hence why every Asian culture is so keen on escapism and surreal art, while Western art and aesthetic basically portraits reality and moral dillemas.
