How do we solve the (Anglo) Saxon Question, Zig Forums?
Execute the men, breed the women
Replace the '''''males'''' with black bvlls
France did that before, it worked?
Anglo-Saxons had already taken over the Scottish Lowlands by the 10th century.
It's solving itself.
In 50 years the UK will be 90% Paki and Pole.
They won the world cup
Well, we have 5 of them, but I really doubt it makes your country better
the English are only Saxons.
the biggest lie in English history is the existance of a united one ethnicity English people before the normans.
hahaahah.
they were northumbrians you mong.
the English didn't exist until after the normans came.
the entire thing about Northumbria was that they resisted Danish and saxon conquest.
I know, spastic, I say ‘Anglo-Saxon’ as a general term for the Germanic groups that originally settled in Britain.
>historically-illiterate scotchposting retard strikes again
Wasn't Æthelstan crowned as King of the English during his reign?
sorry then.
its just strange when people say they were one group. basically the same situation with german before unifaction how all were united into germany but the dutch, similar when England formed and the northumbrians were split between Scotland and England.
yes and Wilhelm was the leader of a united germans. it doesn't mean they were one ethnic group.
Northumberland and Cumbria should join Scotland. They have more in common with Lowland Scotland, methinks.
Do any of you guys have a decent map of ethnic groups in the UK?
they do.
that actually almost happened but the deal never went through because England wanted to keep the fortresses there after they sold the land which doesn't make any sense for fairness. so the deal never happened and it was attempted to be taken by force.
roughly what it looked like in 1700.
Thanks, user.
Is the Cornish group still around?
a Cornish identity exists but Cornish is an incredibly endangered language.
the map should have the bottom left of wales as English, due to Flemish immigration in the 14th century.
>but Cornish is an incredibly endangered language.
The Cornish language literally died out.
England is already pushing far beyond what can be considered a reasonable border. The border should be like this.
The last true Cornish speaker died about 200 years ago.
It's recently been revived, but it's a bastardisation of known Cornish, with Welsh and Breton mixed in. There were around 1500 speakers last time I checked.
Lots of sign posts are dual written in Cornwall here, for the tourists I guess.
>due to Flemish immigration in the 14th century.
Interesting, it's surprising to hear that the Western coast of the isles were settled by germanic groups, especially since it was that late into the medieval period.
Gotcha, thanks.
yes but it was revived and has people that speak it today but is endangered again.
that's what the borders used to look like.
yeah. the bit I marked had so many it was called little England.
You don't. We already rule over you. Mind, body and spirt
See and >The last true Cornish speaker died about 200 years ago.

It's kind of weird to talk about a reconstructed language as endangered. In that case I suppose Latin and Old Norse are also endangered languages.
It’s more about the fact that Northumberland would be better represented as part of Scotland, as too would Cumbria, and they already have more in common with the Scottish Lowlands than the Souf.
Wow.
That's pretty impressive.
Was Frisian and English mutually intelligible at this point?
That's too bad.
>It's kind of weird to talk about a reconstructed language as endangered
Cornish nationalists are unbelievably insular.
>Cornish nationalists are unbelievably insular.
But then again they're not that common, are they?
>Was Frisian and English mutually intelligible at this point?
No. The English great vowel shift was fully completed at this point. Don't see the relevance of this though since these immigrants were Flemish, not Frisian.
its culture would be more fairly shown yes.
probably too late now.
They would more sway in the Scottish Parliament and would be catered to more, but they’re probably annoyed that Scotland isn’t pro-Brexit though. I want Berwick-upon-Tweed back, at least.
>But then again they're not that common, are they?
Hard to say. The local Cornish Nationalist party rarely gets more than 1000 votes in a general election, yet I've met so many born and bred Cornish people who rant on about closing the border with Devon and kicking out the nasty English.
Until the next census is held that should include Cornish as a nationality we can only guess.
English and German people should be drowned in the Atlantic
