Is that useful nowadays? I've one with Jumping function but never used, just bought it from a friend who went to Japan but I never learned a good way to use cause I'm too into Jsho, I think it can be more profitable if I started do lurk on one of these instead.
No, they are only useful in school where mobile phones are not allowed.

Or use WaniKani anki deck that does that for you (you can start with radicals, but they use their own ideas behind radicals in some cases, not obsolete/ original ones that don't matter anyways).
I use this one ankiweb.net/shared/info/266084933 It works fine, but I think it goes through all radicals first, which is different from deck below that follows WaniKani web- not saying it's worse or better way, just letting you know. Also I didn't like latin font, so I changed it personally.
ankiweb.net/shared/info/1609000301 This one is updated very often following original WK web changelog, also is formatted much more nicely than one above.
THAT BEING SAID both have one terrible drawback- they ask you to type in answer, and that is too slow. You can disable that by editing html (just delete something like "type in don't modify" like).
Now I realize that you mentioned 4 sections- I just used "master" deck (the one with + on the left), I already went through 2k6k before once, so I knew pretty much all cards at the beginning, how many cards daily you should be doing? I have no idea.
I got mine from the guide (itazuraneko.neocities.org/library/benkyou.html) it was just a mega link rather than an ankiweb link. Is it the same? I think so. But if not then what is a difference between old and 'updated' wanikani i can look for while in browse mode?
Though, I will probably just use it for radicals for the moment, I am dealing with more than enough kanji in my C2k/6k right now. I am around the 600 card mark.
I have no idea what WK deck is it, mate. Assuming it has audio it should be the same, they ripped WK somehow and all decks should be pretty much the same.
>what is a difference between old and 'updated' wanikani I looked up changelog and they seem to change white/ black lists, those are used for rating answers you type in as O or X, so not relevant for the deck you are using I think.
