Wait a bit and the first tomatoes will pop up
looking nice
i alwyas like sniffing tomaote leafs after crooning them
it's too cold to grow tomatoes here
Me ? I grow roses so I can make a nice roses bouquet for mother's day
tfw no garden
Do you have lettuces frens?
no, i missed its optimal planting time, ill plant it next year
Rod and stick so they can support their own weight
after the plant grow it will not stand because the weight is too much. So you should give them something to stand on.
Also mind you this is my first time as well, so I'm no expert
SEETHING tomatolets
As you can tell the growing season starts later here
I see, i was planning on spreading them over ropes simliar to a vine
You can grow some special types of tomato on a windowsill my lad
/gard/ general
dont worry, the tomato tax is currently being finalized
Yeah
what a comfy thread
i wish i had a garden
Here we use reed to support the weight of the plant
I hope you guys actually grow them from seed and not buy them from the store right?
A mix of both
My Girlfriend and I have hired a plot of land outside Copenhagen because we live in an apartment.
Planting tomorrow.
Hired some land, 100sqm.
This kind of thing is called allotments in English, if it's a big field split up into plots for people to grow veg
Looks nice
What will you plant?
I planted more than 10 pumpkin seeds and only one of them sprouted. At least my cherry tomatoes are doing good.
>I planted more than 10 pumpkin seeds and only one of them sprouted
Now that's very strange pumpkins are probably one of the easiest seeds to germanite
did you water them regularly?
Yeah it’s pretty cool. I’ve been busy with work so I haven’t been out there yet.
The window box we had was shit and attracting bugs. It cost about 1000Kr / £100? For the year.
This
Tomatoes, watermrlons, melons, peppers from the store
The rest as seeds
Siirtolapuutarha in Finland. My aunt is big on that.
My harvest last year was pretty dreadful.
>Only five cauliflower plants actually matured, and only two of them grew properly
>Bell pepper plants were almost entirely unfruitful, and the two that weren't only grew one small pepper each
>Cucumber plant really only yielded two cucumbers that weren't slimy
>Tomato plants were ravaged with blight, although they still managed to be the most fruitful of them all
Hopefully I don't have such shit luck this year. My mom and I decided we're just going to grow four different varieties of peas, and we just sowed the seeds this week. Now we're just waiting to see how many of them actually sprout.
Pic related.
Lettuce and broccoli too.
nice, godspeed user
The bell peppers I grew last year were really bitter. Not doing that again.
Do you really like peas?
That's based
I personally would like to live in Siirtolapuutarha cabin.
Oh boy you are very late with the peas I already sowed them like over a month ago peas don't really grow that well in the hot summer
Yes, I soaked them for a few hours for a week in March before I planted them, they all germinated like pic related but only one of them managed to grow into a plant.
You can build a greenhouse
Thanks, you too.
I’m actually Australian but just live here.
I’m Australia we have ‘Lebanese cucumber’ in the shops as the most common type. is that actually Lebanese or something else?
Yeah it's really nice, we've had a shared one for a good few years here. Really satisfying to eat stuff you've grown yourself. If you want a top tip, don't be tempted to grow loads of courgettes and marrows and pumpkins and that - easy to grow loads of it but you'll never ever eat it all. Beans and tomatoes, onions and potatoes I'd recommend
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever bought a pumpkin in my life and I am 33. Not sure if my gf or her mum will plant any. Potatoes definitely. Didn’t even think about onion, may as well. Have you tried to grow garlic? I heard it takes a long time.
Thanks for the advice.
My mom certainly does. I don't eat them on their own, but I do very much like the way that my dad prepares them in the dishes he uses them in.
I'm very much aware, but the problem is that it was unseasonably cold here for quite a long time, due to the polar vortex hanging over us well into this month. It culminated in us receiving about 5 cm of snowfall a mere two weeks ago, but yesterday the high reached 30°C. Weather's so goddamn hard to predict nowadays that I don't really have any idea how they're going to fare.
lots of potato plants grew randomly here and there
