I've met a few Italians and two of them have had red hair, one was from Rome and the other from Turin. Is it more common in the North of Italy?

Yes 8n the north more. The consensus is that they are hideous and ostracized until they get to around 20, when everyone begins to fuck. USUALLY everyone changes their mind about phenotypes around this age, even though they are not called that, more like "weird why does she have red hair?" Stuff like that
