UK oppressed Indians

America has many Chinese people

Indian food is popular in Canada though

I WONDER WHY

Indian food is vastly superior

>Chinese and Indian foods are popular in Canada
Hmm I wonder why

indian food is popular here though or at least about as popular as chinese food
also obligatory "indian" food in western countries is actually muslim indian food and indians keep the real hindu food to themselves

Where ? I know lots of people who go out and order chinese food, whereas no one seems to care for Indian food other than Indians

Most Indians in US aren’t cultural Indians. We export our gamers and nerds there.

South Indian cuisine is quite popular and not Islamically influenced.
Btw, even Indian Muslim food is different from other Muslim food even though there is influence

>South Indian cuisine is quite popular and not Islamically influenced.
not here. that's what I'm saying
all the dishes here are meat based muslim food. we don't get the spicy vegetarian dank stuff

I'm Indian myself and live in Toronto. It honestly has to do with the fact that most Indians here don't get into the restaurant business and the ones who do are terrible at it. My mom can make better food then most Indian restaurants here and most Sikhs out in Brampton use indian restaurants as money laundering spots and don't care about the actual food.

Indians in the UK have been there for a long time and have established themselves in the restaurant business the way chinese people have here, that's really all it is

Just say your knowledge of both cuisines come from instant takeout dinners

What they call "Indian" food is all just Mughal food + British dishes. To see authentic Indian food, look at South Indian cuisine, where it's Indian at it's finest.

Indian restaurants in the UK are run by Bangladeshis and Pakistanis.

Indian immigrants for whatever reason don't open restaurants and pursue other professions based on their social class and/or caste.

Yes

(please imagine an attached gigachad image)

I live in California and both are popular here

Does California even have Chinese or Indian people?

What the fuck does indian takeout look like in your cunt?

>yet not popular in the UK
wrong

Most Indians in the US are more educated and have specialised roles. So they don't really open restaurants in those countries. It's a similar situation with Chinese people in the UK.

And we get a wider range of South Asians in the UK. Some of them aren't skilled so they just open up restaurants. I imagine it's a similar situation with Chinese people in North America.

I never ate curry :(

We do have Chinese restaurants in the UK and they're somewhat common (probably the most common after Indian, Italian/pizzerias and kebab). Although a lot of our chippies are run by chinese people.

Never been to india, but pretty much like in the UK from my experience. We just have fewer indian restaurants.

I would like to try (vegetarian) Indian food

yes lots of cantonese and punjabis

>Indian food
>Not popular in the US

Like these guys said, Indian food is all over the place in the US, but it is regional. When I lived in the middle of the country there were no Indian restaurants, but now were I am on the East Coast there's a town that has like a dozen Indian restaurants and an Indian Grocery store right by me, and on my main street there's an Indian place across the road from a Peruvian restaurant which is next to a Japanese restaurant.

Chinese is more wide-spread across the country because Chinese immigrants have been coming here for longer. Indian food will spread out as Indian people here get wealthier and move out of the cities.

new /desi/ is up guys

Redpill me on biryani

Yeah the chinky take aways are popular, talking out of your arse mate

it was made by the mughal (muslim turkics) royal kitchens. the muslim chads demanded meat so they mixed meat, rice, and indian spices and briyani was made.

Are there any differences between the biryani styles?

People here tend to think Indian food as dirty. Like extremely dirty.

I have a frozen package of samosas, and on the box label, it says in bold letters "produced and packaged in a clean environment".

>Indian food not popular in USA
Huh?

I got a chinky just down the road, but i suppose theres 2 indians in my town.
