Literally the, unironically the, most corrupt institution in the history of democracy. Every single justice should get covid and coof. And that's for citizens united alone. Lol.

pls you are just vexed because they upheld roe v wade in some backwater

the US is not a democracy

>citizens united
>doesn't represent citizens but corporations

You're just vexed because it's true and you're too stupid to know their total history. Incel

SCOTUS is based.

they the sc is fine

>WAAAAAHH SUPREME COURT DIDN'T RULE HOW I WANTED WAHHH

Obviously corporation niggers lol

it is up to the corporations to have some moral backbone

>president gets to pick judges
>they stay there for life
do amerisharts really

SCOTUS doesn't suck, the constiution sucks

Separation of powers is a meme

No one over the age of 60 should be allowed to be a judge, or hold any meaningful positions. Every part of the body deteriorates with age and the brain is no different.

The senate also has to approve them which makes a big difference. But yes, them being lifetime appointments is actually a good thing. The two justices appointed by Trump ruled today that the SDNY can legally subpoena his records for an investigation into crimes he may have committed. If they had to keep being re-appointed then they would've saved Trump because it would've been career suicide not to.

It's pretty based in practice. No need for political maneuvering or bullshit. No fucks given about public opinion. No career thoughts about future career prospects. Besides, as the other user mentioned, they need Senate approval.

it just means they don't have to pay favors anymore after appointment, that's why some republicans like op feel disappointed about chief justice roberts

This is also the case for our Conseil Consitutionnel

>those modern windows
Ain't really roman

Sorry, but people have to work in these buildings. The true to style office buildings built in the 1920s are hell to work in.

Did they really just give half of Oklahoma to the injuns

Unbelievably based

Representative "democracy" is not democracy

Only the criminal parts. It's a very complex ruling honestly.

We have referendums. Is that not democratic enough?

>mutts sign treaty giving Oklahoma to natives
>completely ignore it and settles it with irish/italian/non-white filth anyways
>centuries later
>court recognizes the OG treaty and throws natives a bone
What's the issue here?

The issue is a treaty is not some unchangeable permanently binding thing. We changed the deal several times and congress made Oklahoma a state. which I'd say means the Supreme Court is overstepping it's bounds and going way beyond interpreting the law by declaring a decision by congress illegal it seems they make the laws now.

>The issue is a treaty is not some unchangeable permanently binding thing.
Ameriscums

Kek

I think you're missing the point. I never said it wasn't bad that we didn't keep the promise but we are way past that

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_United_v._FEC
>Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, 558 U.S. 310 (2010), was a landmark decision of the Supreme Court of the United States concerning campaign finance. The Court held that the free speech clause of the First Amendment prohibits the government from restricting independent expenditures for political communications by corporations, including nonprofit corporations, labor unions, and other associations.
Did your highest court legally declare money as a form of speech? That's kind of a piss take. It should have been called Corporations United, not Citizens United. Wew lad. wew

Wanna know how I know you're a whiny libshit Bernie supporter?
