Why would someone want to learn Finnish?
Language app Duolingo launched its Finnish course on Wednesday, saying it was the 'most-requested language ever'...
i am from finland
No one is going to complete it ever. Finnish is one of these languages that you either learn it since being born or you won't ever learn it completely.
plenty of Russian wants to move to Finland.
Maybe Americans also..
duolingo does more harm than good.
you could make equal progress in 1 day with a book than with a whole duolingo course.
No they don't kek
More Finns are in Russia (st.petersburg is close) per capita than Russians in Finland
Also Finland is too cold
please provide source for this bullshit
>per capita
Zig Forums is filled with Finns as much as Finland is empty with them.
And there are quite a russian diaspora over there
there's surprising amount of Finnaboos in East Asia like Japan and maybe Korea. They have huge population so doesn't even have to be that many proportionally to make for a lot of people.
>there's surprising amount of Finnaboos in East Asia like Japan and maybe Korea.
never heard this before but ok
This. Asians are obsessed with aurora borealis
Finnish is an interesting language in that it’s like an indecipherable code that’s only spoken by moon orcs living near the North Pole.
This is definitely true in Japan. People read that it’s the happiest country in the world and get obsessed with it
Because I want to understand my family.
Russians in finland is a meme those idiots came up with to make them seem less useless. It's true that there are a lot of finns in SPB tho, but nobody cares about it (finns too for some reason)
boredom
Not because it is easy but because it is hard
I like Finland (Suomi) but I don't like duolingo, it's shit.
yes this is true, there are many thousands of russians learning finnish right now and wanting to move. This is good, finland can pick the best of them if they want
My finnish friend complained about it nonstop because they didnt have finnish
I don't know about you guys as much as Japs, but I remember there was a Korean girl who has a blog about teaching Finnish to other Koreans by translating some Ylilauta memes, it was pretty funny.
>source: Finnish posts on Zig Forums when they trying to cope with being a meme country
I cannot go to the doctors anymore without hearing some hospital workers speaking Russian to each other, it's almost concerning
>learn svenska
>move to "Canada of Europe" mixpot
>Get citizenship after a few years
>Move to suomi and just keep speaking svenska
>Passport after 2 years because it's official language
Nothing personnel, kid
No seriously, language is too hard
Have you considered suicide?
NOOOOO
Please learn Swedish instead! We Finns are inferior

I'm actually studying on an MBA programm in Helsinki and I hear Russian VERY rarely, and they all the russians I've met there were genuinely surprised to hear me speaking russian to them.
That's cool. My mother teaches social welfare studies at university so she has associations with Sweden and sometimes Finland.
She once gave me a book for learning Swedish. can you send me the link of the blog? I'm getting interested.
I don't know how it's in Helsinki, I think the Russians prefer staying here more East. Or maybe it just seems like there's more of them here, since there are less people to begin with.
the blog was all in Korean, I don't know if I can find it anymore but I'll link it if I do
