It’s true that there are a handful of neighborhoods which are relatively clean and safe for the most part, but they are extremely expensive and even so it is pretty hard to avoid the decay and crime totally. You will see it on the streets, subway, etc. They banned bulletproof glass at stores because it was racist and it is one of the only cities where more people live in the city and commute to the suburbs because none of the companies want to be in the city.
