Blacks in Europe in general are a lot more well put together then the American ones. The European ones are African immigrants whereas the American ones were people who were descended of slaves for centuries and didn't get actual civil rights till the 1960s. The majority of French black population comes from overseas territories where they make the entire population or majority of those territories. Rest are from big cities neighborhood and doesn't even make the majority there.
Go to the countryside, which is the majority of the country, its another story.

They are very black for Europe but not on America's level. The USA was the second largest beneficiary of the atlantic slave trade in the world to the point they were a 25% black country back in the 18th century. Even then they are 13% black now, France is not on America's level of black

When I was there they all tendef to congregate in certain cities so in said cities they are a visible part of the population. Having said that I think those were all recent Africans and not multi generations of black Germans.
