It's not. It was pretty "reddit" even at the time, it's even moreso in hindsight. Even the parts that were good are pretty bad on the rewatch, contrived and melodramatic with jerky pacing. And a lot of the characters come across as caricatures.
But it's okay as far as these things go, and if you enjoy it it's not without merit. Just don't feel like you have to slog through it to start enjoying it if you don't find it appealing, because it's not that kind of show.

I've a friend and her brother is a non ironic turbo autist and even though he's 30, they've to constantly monitor him, if he's 3 seconds to himself, he'll start googling shit like "Where to buy guns, where to bury bodies" and he constantly talks about women are sub humans and how people on welfare (like himself) should be in camps. It's fun the first time when you don't know what's going to happen and lot of season 3 is just Walt doing chores and the cousins were absolutely cringe. But it doesn't hold up as well as stuff like Sopranos or Deadwood
Also don't get me started on Better Call Saul. WOW IT'S FUCKING NOTHING the show
