I'm guessing you think there's some humanistic standard of morality but I don't think that's convincing because man's nature is flawed and therefore any "morality" created by man is flawed and not objective.

I'd be very interested to hear your perspective on metaphysics and moral philosophy, rather than you just criticising my worldview.

Damn, just had another dream about my room being taken over by giant disgusting insects. They were falling off the ceiling into my bed and I had to jump off because they were coming out from under it and stuff. Terrible. 4th one in the last month. Think I'm paranoid about them because I have to keep my windows open and the screens are pretty old and beat up and they get in sometimes. Had a wasp come in a week ago and I trapped behind the window and screen and he escaped really fast out of some hole I can't find. Has me on edge.

Dark Ages weren’t Medieval era. Common misconception.

Dark Ages are used in Vatican history to refer to a brief period in the 10th century when the country of Rome was ruled by a political family who would put their family members in charge of the Papacy. A mini-episode of that was the Pornocracy, which is when women pulled the strings behind the Pope’s back.

Also Medieval Era itself is outdated and nowadays really only refers to pre 10th century.

By all accounts, people in the Late Middles Ages (13th-15th century) were pretty advanced compared to the subsequent centuries. It just took the Renaissance (literally “re birthing”) among other factors like the Reformation to flesh all these ideas out fully

We can even track things like the French Revolution or workers rights back to the Middle Ages in England with guys like Watt Tyler

Yeah, I've heard this silly argument before and I know why you do it. There's only one God. A large number of wrong answers doesn't make the one correct answer incorrect. It just makes it harder to find.

The pragmatic intellectualism of the modern world is to understand the flaws of humanity. To understand why we evolved the way we did and which aspects of our nature is necessary for survival and what is just leftover from our hunting days. Once you've understood this then you can begin to condition yourself to remove certain traits like jealousy, unnecessary anger and violence, superstition etc.
