I think the radioactive waste is the biggest problem

Just dump is in Romania.

Radioactive waste and the threat of it exploding or suffering anyother failure that could lead to a catastrophe is enough.

Ugggghh. What could have been.
>at it's highest rated speed and velocity, the orion would have an impact of over 1.19 teratonnes, enough to wipe out a civilization in another star system in a very short time frame

NIMBY faggots

I still remember, they were going to build a brand spanking new nuclear power plant here in Fresno county.

This Australian environazi starts chiming in about the risk from earthquakes.

There isn't one goddamned faultline anywhere around here.

Isn't radioactive waste as small as a Cambodian penis?

bro just launch them in space

soon...

we invented it

it's just the Germans but they are retarded anyways

Ahahahaha fukushima, pussy ass krauts thought theyd be next.

literally ALL westerners are

Propaganda against nuclear power has been pretty strong. I don't think that nuclear will ever go mainstream because of the fear associated with it

They hate nature

Attached: 4vHtoSVGB4xExB17dxrWc7Ka86llimFc3MtKzAgF.jpg (620x413, 97.63K)

because the only solution for the waste is to bury it and hope nothing happens for a million of years

>It's bad because... because it's bad okay? Think about Chernobyl and Fukushima.

Attached: 1564488092740.jpg (454x520, 50.56K)

i may be wrong but don't the technology surrounding nuclear power has become much safer when we start using thorium

sure dude, let's just have the whole ecosystem collapse and everyone starve but at least there isn't some uranium waste somewhere out in nowhere underground
fucking retard

Could send that to a black hole and never talk about it after.

>tf
>tp

Attached: 1543610999272.jpg (750x711, 690.86K)

Because they don't have it

Just imagine if Tuscany became radioactive for 10.000 years.

lol, were planing to ad a second reactor

New generation reactors generate less waste, a lot of it is recycled, and hopefully with new technologies like nuclear fusion the waste problem will be completely eliminated in the near future.
Unfortunately, so long as ecologist subhumans continue to shit on nuclear and shill for inefficient alternatives like wind power, we're never going to see it.

I think you meant
>German ecologists
Goddamn niggers of Europe.

nuclear power is shit, simple as
euros are right on this

i for one am not, i am also not against wind turbines either

also the UK invented nuclear energy btw

Attached: web-dungeness-gettyv2.jpg (968x681, 95.95K)

Nuclear power, or as I like to call it, nukeshit, is and always was a meme that was forced during the Cold War to give atomic science better P.R. than bombs (Umm... Let's do a steam engine with uranium???)

It is shilled relentlessly by energy companies (the French also seem to have a bizarre chauvinistic/nationalist obsession with it) and the only reason that it's been shoehorned into the green energy discussion in the U.S. is a relentless astroturf campaign by the Nuclear Energy Institute.

Redditors of the "I heckin' wubba lubba love freakin' SCIENCE!" liberal technocrat variety lap this shit up, because the shiny new 100% totally safe Szechuan Sauce reactors (not that current reactors are even dangerous lol dumb hippies XD) are *always* just 5 years around the corner.

I think there's also a definite air of "So what if a nuclear meltdown is catastrophic, I guess I just like to *drags cigarette* live DANGEROUSLY" coolness associated with supporting nukeshit.

Fuck nukeshit and fuck you.

Attached: cutie.jpg (600x600, 33.21K)

It's the same shit here retard.
We should've kept Fessenheim running at least until the first EPR was ready to function but ecologist subhumans pressured Cuckron into shutting it down.

why

>fusion
>near future

ITER is progressing so sloooooowly

btw I'm against fission plants but in favor of fusion plants (which are always 30 years in the future apparently)

I gave up trying to make sense of this.
The issue is so politicized I cannot figure out what is what.
And I have a BSc in Physics and actually talked to nuclear fission researchers to try to figure this out.

So, I really don't know how a bunch of you lot have it all figured out, desu.

Nuclear energy has been basically killed by the fossil fuel lobby, they used isolated cases like Fukushima and Tschernobyl, combined with the constant threat of terrorism (which was pretty much dead until the US started shipping guns to Isis) to rally the public against nuclear energy

>missing the point
>calling me a retard
Anti-nuclear shill comes form Germany trying to not let lose of the coal industry.

it is very dangerous, like so dangerous it's not even worth trying

if the Japanese failed at managing safely that should tell you something about it

Why are Yanks such thick uneducated cunts?

>Europeans
Krautshits*.

a very small biggest problem compared to other sources of energy

we have very safe ways of storing the tiny amount of waste that nuclear reactors produces

ignorance

Co2 emissions are a much more pressing issue

the amount of waste is so little that you could fit all the waste made so far globally in one little cave

>Nuclear energy has been basically killed by the fossil fuel lobby
*the coal lobby, specifically. Exxon was a strong supporter of nuclear energy before the public turned against it.
Um sweaty, there's never going be a nuclear meltdown. All the ones that already happened were accidents and not supposed to happen, and they're not supposed to happen again, therefore they won't, my adorable little child...

>hurr durr i'm a big retard and i base my opinions on things that happen in hollywood films

there is literally nothing wrong with nuclear energy

youtube.com/watch?v=cbeJIwF1pVY

>but muh chernobyl!
just because communists fucked it up catastrophically doesn't mean nuclear power stations need to have the same inherent danger. the chernobyl reactor was designed to be unstable and would never be allowed in the west, or anywhere in the world now:

0 deaths

the Japanese got tsunamied

fusion reseaech gets garbage funding because nuclear is not fashionable, it is no surprise that it isn't progressing

Japanese failed the comprehension that their island is located on a GEOLOGIC FAULT causing major seismic activity.

>also the UK invented nuclear energy btw

*ahem*

Attached: Enrico Fermi.jpg (220x229, 10.73K)

Yes, it will be different this time, meltdowns aren't supposed to happen anymore.

>just because communists fucked it up catastrophically doesn't mean nuclear power stations need to have the same inherent danger. the chernobyl reactor was designed to be unstable and would never be allowed in the west, or anywhere in the world now:
Graphite candles were a huge mistake anyway.

There is no coal industry in France.
French ecologists aren't even shills, they're legitimately brain-damaged.

zero (0) deaths (people dying)

>Japan is 100% flawless meme
Reminder that the worst aviation disaster in history bar Tenerife was because nip monkeys couldn't read security guidelines when maintaining their jets.

how they got the climate hippies to oppose the 0 emission option is beyond me

whatever, the Japanese are good at risk prevention and still they failed

Italy is also seismic btw

In the event of war nuclear power plants could become targets
history already showed us they're vunerable to natural disasters
There's still the issue of nuclear waste

>americans
>"oh no nuclear scary! homer simpson bad!"
>"me like burning coal and oil me like china and india!"

VGH...

>muh japan

fuck off retard weeb

>Why are Europeans against nuclear power?
Because there is plenty of good alternatives.

Americans never had to "deal" with a catastrophic nuclear reactor like the Europeans or Japs had to deal. Americans actually paid corrupt third world nations in other continents to dump their nuclear waste there.

If you look up not only Fukushima and Chernobyl, there is plenty of places that are inhabitable around the globe because something that should not happen, happened.

Also, could you imagine what a bombing during some pointless war could do to a nuclear power plant?

They hear "nuclear" and get scared

ratio aaactiev bad becuz HBO show: also wat aboot da nuke bombs CoD staile?
I have 75 IQ, veeeri hai, is 3 aut of forr hai!
Ik ook! Ik ook!

The greentexting of imaginary people, stop that.

Thank God Germany doesn't use horrible scary nuclear power

Attached: 345345345.jpg (1398x818, 193.01K)

So why are there ecologists in France pestering everyone about how we need to shut down all nuclear reactors?

fukushima had zero nuclear central related incidents despite the fact a divine reprisal struck their land for lolicon and isekai

I see that the Children of Atom have arrived in full force.
I wonder if radiation poisoning is causing them to hallucinate all of these straw men they're attacking?

Attached: wojakface.jpg (645x773, 43.52K)

you're a braindead moron and you need to get over yourself

there are far worse things happening on a far larger scale at this very moment than if all the coal power plants switched to nuclear. the world would be better.

you fell for hollywood jews and they've conditioned you into opposing their monopoly on your power and environment, congratulations

They failed because they didn't respected the 101 on risk prevention.

And Italy seismic activity is nowhere to be close to half the japanese one.

>and still they failed
did they though? the nuclear central collapsed like any building, but was there a nuclear fall-out or any other radioactive incident?

If you would stop to think for just one minute you'd realise how fucking stupid you sound.

Fusion is the future

I am genuinely perplexed as to what exactly about nukeshit causes its devotees to argue in such abject bad faith, assuming of course, that you do it for free.

you can use them many times before they become useless
then you put loads of it inside the barrels and bury them
wait for a few years and take them off, they'll be secure to throw away normally

Italy has had a lot of very bad earthquakes and tsunamis.

>earthquake shifts earth's axis
>BUT MUH FUKUSHIMA
>zero nuclear central related incidents
It's almost as if democracy allows people with IQs lower than smart animals to vote for things beyond their comprehension.

Everyone against nuclear centrals and deterrents should have their voting rights revoked and should be processed for meat and animal products.

Because the intel operation was targeted toward a potential nuclear electricity seller that was ... France.

because it's reliable green energy that can save us from your countries and chinas and indias global warming but we can't have it because of retards like you

>They failed
Where does this meme come from? I tried KnowYourMeme and Urban Dictionary but I can't seem to narrow down this hilarious meme about Japan failing a cataclysmic situation that they still handled expertly.

I lurked for two years, but uneducated poopoo pee pee retards keep memeing Japan's failing the Fukushima earthquake. Very peculiar. Maybe you should be sterilised, no?

i feel like im leaning more towards more plants here because we don't have natural disasters and brazil sure as hell not going to war with anyone and nuclear waste won't be as much a problem if we use thorium

>thorium
Meme spread by 14yo scientists on YouTube.
If anything goes wrong with the lunch (things that happen form time to time) you just pulverize nuclear waste in the atmosphere.
Enjoy the fall out.
No one knows exactly what happen when you bury nuclear waste. Does it simple stay there? does it oxide their containers and leak into ground water?
>Co2 emissions are a much more pressing issue
Ohh god, only if we had a way to transform CO2 in Oxygen. Too bad there is no organism in earth that can do it for us, for free :(
Well, i guess we are doomed...

>nukeshit shill is also a misanthropic technocrat
Color me shocked.

>BUT MUH FUKUSHIMA
Interesting, now face the wall.

Then maybe stop cutting down the rain forest. I don't get why you do it, I thought monkeys loved trees.

Make that a mentally ill misanthropic technocrat.

the only times americans ever find environemntalism is when they're told to by their overlords to defend jewish monopolies.

it happened with concorde and it happens with nuclear power

They sould'nt be alowed to build a nuclear power plant near a geosismic fault. That was my point.

Also
>ik ook telling me to get sterilized

ah that clean ground water for literally nobody left alive. refreshing.

>oy vey goyim, you're going to use the white supremacist nuclear energy (white people invented it!) over precious ancestry evolutionerino dinosaurinos? Here, have some oil, it'll make your skin healthy, and we'll get to kill terrorist 8 year old schoolgirls at the same time!

But the large energy companies in the U.S. are overwhelmingly anti-environmentalist and pro-nuclear, you spastic n*Zoid freak.

Based

Literally just psychotic word salad. More people like you ought to be the public face of the nuclear industry.

>Does it simple stay there? does it oxide their containers and leak into ground water?
I guess ultra qualified scientists never thought about that

Attached: external-content.duckduckgo.com.jpg (1280x720, 44.73K)

I wonder how many groundbreaking developments have been thwarted by public retardation and private greed.
BUT NOTHING WENT WRONG DOE
for the off-chance something ever goes wrong and they still manage to contain the damage, what's the problem with them let alone us using nuclear energy
>the poor, cute Jewish rascals won't like it!
Aha.

>Why are Germans against nuclear power?
FTFY, and to answer a mix of coal industry corruption and the general population thinking that a nuclear powerplant is somehow more dangerous than a coal one

>At the beginning of 2005, there were some 440 commercial nuclear power plants operating in 31 countries, with roughly 364 GWe of total capacity (WNA 2005). Hence, to produce 15 TW (15,000 GWe) by 2050 would require roughly 14,636 new 1-GW nuclear power plants. Construction of this number of plants would require,[11] on average, the commissioning of a new nuclear power plant somewhere in the world every day continuously for 40 years.
>Assuming the continued dominance of slow-neutron nuclear power technologies,[h] each 1 GW plant would require about 195 tU/yr (WNA 2001), so 15 TWe would consume about 2.9 MtU/yr. [12] At this rate, the estimated global conventional uranium terrestrial resources (17.1 MtU) (NEA 2002) would be exhausted in less than 10 years.[13] Estimated amounts of U from unconventional resources (particularly seawater) are much larger (4,022 MtU) (NEA 2002), but would require a significant physical infrastructure to extract. At a uranium concentration in seawater (Garwin 2001, p. 210) of roughly 3.3 mgU/m3, extracting uranium at a rate of 2.9 MtU/yr would require treatment of water at a volume rate of 886,000 km3 /yr,[14] more than 4,000 times the volume rate of water (180 km3/yr) through the Niagara Falls,[15] and more than 30 times the volume rate of water (23,560 km3/yr) necessary to cool the nuclear power plants.[16]

>Then maybe stop cutting down the rain forest.
Great miss conception.
First off. We destroy less forests than some first world countries (just look at Australia, they burned 40x more forests than we did), and america is not behind in cutting down forrests. But htis is not the point of this post.
The thing that most ecofags forget is that a tree grow capturing CO2, and when it reach certain age, it just slow down, at the point where it produces more CO2 than it captures (decomposition).
The trick is to sequestrate CO2 in wood, is to cut trees that are old, and plant new ones. And fucking use the wood for something productive.
America and Japan gets a lot of shit because they build pretty much anything with wood, while we (SA), Asia, Africa and EU uses much more cement derivative products. And we just ignore that over 20% of all CO2 produced in the world come from the burn of focil fuels to produce cement and quicklime.

Sorry for the big post.

Thanks for your service

>solar shills
fuck off leafjude

nuclear powerplants? YOU MEAN LIKE HIROSHIMA AND NAGASAKI
>In adapting the play to film, the director Nicholas Hytner changed the name from The Madness of George III to The Madness of King George for American audiences, to clarify George III's royalty. A popular explanation developed that the change was made because there was a worry that American audiences would think it was a sequel and not go to see it, assuming they had missed "I" and "II".
People are fucking stupid and make the dumbest association.
Since nuclear weapons and nuclear powerplants are both nuclear, they're both equally bad. Most people are fucking retards and shut their eyes to anything that confronts their view of reality

You're mentally ill.

>for the off-chance something ever goes wrong and they still manage to contain the damage
Still they got leaks. I'm not against nuclear power use anyway.

not denying that
atleast i'm intelligent to boot
maybe JUST MAYBE if we wildly applied nuclear powerplants, safety measures would be developed out of necessity and because of variating development

and you're american

>atleast i'm intelligent to boot
...

Whoa...

>tfw too retarded to be astronaut or work in a New Space company

Solar have their applications. If you have a small house off grid, farm stuff, go for it. But the idea of cover roads (American meme) with solar panels is just dumb.
The carbon footprint of a single panel is too high to even think on this (at less for now, maybe they figure out a better way to produce them without rare earth minerals).

Get a job as a cock sucker to keep the astronauts satisfied in space
