we should rename the english language to the american language.
at this point england is irrelevant on the global stage, they've lost the right to claim the lingua franca as their own, and quite frankly i don't like my language being associated with them.
i'd much rather someone's first impressions of my language be with freedom, liberty, and power, than with some pale ugly brit who doesn't know what a toothbrush is.
most people associate the american flag with the english language anyway, so it would be a very small and easy change to make.
