Why does Brazil extend beyond Tordesillas? Did Spain get mad at portus for settling Santa Catarina and Belem?

The concept of national identities was largely irreverent until the modern era

We expanded during the iberian union when the treaty of tordesillas did not apply

Iberian union, Portugal and Spain united for some time and that's where Brazil expanded thanks to the Bandeirantes exploring the interior.

Looks like the concept of spelling is still irrelevant to Americans
I see

Napoleon invented the idea to raise larger armies

I am 62% Iberian, I love Iberians :D

Imagine having all of that and still losing to some weak colonial nations lmao

Why can't Americans write in their own tongue is more fascinating honestly. Even on Zig Forums your spelling is subpar at best.

>Ask for independence
>turn into another brown shithole

Whoops

Iberians are so weak that their culture, accent in some cases language got completely overwritten by superior settlers like Italians or CYMRY

Iberians fucked up in everything though. Despite being the first colonial empires, they ended up the poorest countries in West Europe.

That map is somewhat biased towards Spain

Blme your own king for that

don“t listen to iberian union bullshit. during the iberian union they were fighting with dutch to survive
the correct answer is bandeirantes expeditions

Elaborate?

>Have Pedro II
>Fucked it up

Yeah right

In fact it was both the Iberian Union and the bandeirantes

>the correct answer is bandeirantes expeditions
Yes, during the iberian union
He didn't wanted to keep his crown. The navy and a sizeable part of the army(which included veteran generals) were willing to support him against the usurpers, but he didn't wanted to fight back

Really?Why?

It was both, just like I said above

The Iberian Union incorporated Portugal into the Hispanic Monarchy, rendering the Treaty of Tordesillas useless. With this we managed to settle the Amazonian basin and make claims beyond the Tordesillas line. With the way open, the bandeirantes (explorers of the hinterlands) conquered and settled most of the territory in the south, extending Portuguese control deep into the continent.

So I assume 7 on the map is Goias Velho. Based

the iberian union ended in 1640

Yes. It was founded by Bartolomeu Bueno da Silva

Because he had no sons and he thought woman shouldnt rule. He never included his daughter and her husband(the french one) on matters of state for example

Yeah I know there was a union I'm just not too sure how it started and ended. Thanks for the video
Very nice

Thanks, did not know desu.

I don't understand where these mappers get their information. The northeastern hinterlands weren't explored until the late 17th century

>OegulhoSP
Cringe

ask them, sometimes they answer. that is hinted by how he colours the region in diferant shades of green
