German unification

German unification
> Entire process is done by themselves
> btfo Austria
> France gets uppity
> btfo them too and take Elsaß for the trouble
Italian unification:
> Entire process happens because of French consent and sponsorship
> Have to attack Austria while they're already dealing with Prussia
> France reminds them who's their daddy
> France takes Nice and Savoie for the trouble

French unification
> never ended

>being proud of installing el rey Felón
yikes

>German unification
>> Entire process is done by themselves
We both started and ended this process actually. Funnily enough both done by Napoléons.

Napoleon? More like NapoleOFF :D

very prussian post

Some people, like OP, need to be reminded who they are sometimes.
>it was France that ended Spanish domination of Europe at the Battle of Rocroi
>it was France that kicked the Habsburgs out of Spain and replaced them with a French house
>it was France that prevented Bourbon Spain from reconquering their lands in Southern Italy
>it was France that accelerated the loss of Spanish colonies by invading it during the Napoleonic Wars
Afterwards we didn't get involved in Spain anymore except for that one time we reinstalled the "rey Felón". America took over for us in Cuba and the Philippines :)

hahahhhaha thank u :D

We're not talking about Spain though, we're talking about how a bunch of boches made your nation eternally shit their pants and got you off of that pedestal you were in

ebin :DDDDDD

Actually I don't really care about that. I was just wondering what made you think you could make fun of Italy on my board.

the fact that Italy was a non issue pretending to be a great power while Germany kept btfoing everybody so hard coalitions were made to stop them.
Spain was in shambles a long time ago, we didn't pretend otherwise.

You are under my personal protection now, little paellabro.

Both your understanding of German unification and WW1 are very off. I'll just point out that the "coalitions" you're referring to (the Triple Entente) weren't born as a means to check Germany's military strength. In fact, after 1871 until Bismarck's repudiation, European powers were all aligned against France in what is known as the Bismarckian system. The formation of the Triple Entente was a result of the German ruling body's utter ineptitude in diplomatic matters. No one but Bismarck would have been able to maintain the Bismarckian system, but post-Bismarck Germany was so retarded that they went even further and eventually managed to alienate every major European power except Austria.

>post-Bismarck Germany was so retarded

True. Bismarck was the only good leader we ever had. Miss him every day, bros. Miss him so much.

France was desperately looking for allies after the Sedan fiasco.
The rest of Europe was extremely alarmed after Germany's fertility rate made them the second most populous country in Europe, but unlike Russia, the German army was extremely effective.
Wilhelm did not help, but the fact of the matter is, Germany was taking the position of Napoleonic France in British and Russian eyes.

>it was France that accelerated the loss of Spanish colonies by invading it during the Napoleonic Wars
Ironically that, by doing so, France's real european egemony came to and end.

We're with you frenchbro, like we have always been

You will always be king in my heart

>Wilhelm did not help
Euphemism of the century. In a single interview he managed to offend the British, the French, the Russians and the fucking Japanese for some reason.

France managed to woo Russia and Britain after Bismarck's dismissal, the latter at the cost of Fashoda and some prestige. But while France formed a formal alliance with Russia, it wasn't the case with Britain; it was a mere "entente", the terms of which were mostly to Britain's discretion. Perhaps the fall out with Russia was inevitable, but Britain wasn't as staunchly anti-German as you're making it out to be. Wilhelm II claimed so in his memoirs, but he was an old delusional cretin who had lost his empire. Britain tried several times to defuse the situation in the years leading up to the war, but Germany's series of blunders - the aggressive build up of their navy, the Moroccan crises, the Daily Telegraph Affair, and finally their invasion of Belgium, makes Britain's position more than justified. It wasn't anything similar to Napoleonic France, the Triple Entente was entirely the result of Germany's clumsiness.

no we're not

>Britain tried several times to defuse the situation in the years leading up to the war
Here's what I'm referring to: link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-1-349-15841-6_6
In 1912, the Anglo-German naval race had ended and Britain attempted a rapprochement with Germany. They came into agreement on several issues, from colonies to Russia. This is the proof that Britain wasn't staunchly anti-German. Britain also offered to help defuse the situation during the July Crisis, the only thing it wasn't willing to back down upon was the neutrality of Belgium. And of course, Germany just had to invade it.
No, the Triple Entente was nowhere near as predatory as the coalitions that formed against France from 1792 to 1815. It was an extremely loose alliance that miraculously ended up joining forces as a result of German stupidity. Your view of the events is extremely naive but I expected no less from someone that browses Zig Forums, I bet you masturbate to Prussia memes on iFunny
