Because certain individuals ((more of a collective if you will)) have decided white = bad/uncool/wrong. This has been permeated into Western Culture over the last decade at least.

I literally don't see ANY advertising these days that features a white male, on the rare occasion that I have it's either some local ad or he's the butt of a joke. Especially when there's a couple too, it's nearly ALWAYS a black man and a white woman featured.

I remember I signed up to some app recently, one made by a big tech company. I had to select an avatar when creating my profile and there were maybe 20 black men and black afro ladies, a handful of white women and literally one white man, who was quite clearly depicted as extremely camp and borderline trans.

Not to mention all the shit with "historical" Tv shows/games/movies depicting white Europeans as black and such. When people say there's no agenda at play I just have to laugh.

This is just bullshit. If you want a tan you can literally visit a sunbed or get a fake one, it really isn't difficult and it's extremely affordable.

Sun tanning gives you a healthy glow and nice complexion, darkens your skin slightly sure but you definitely still look white if you are so already. Nobody transforms like OPs picture..

Agreed to some degree, although I was just trying to refute what he said. Nobody pays thousands to vacation to "turn brown" when you literally have options like this available to you which actually WILL turn you brown, that's why it's laughable.

The reason people like to Tan is that it gives your skin a healthy glow and nice complexion. It feigns what your skin would look like if you had a perfect diet and took care of it, masking things like red blemishes and dark circles.

It's not the same no, but it's pretty close.
