Is it really true that food portions in other parts of the world are considerably smaller than in the USA?
So have any of you non-Americans come to the USA and been surprised at the portions we have? Or in general have any of you been surprised at our “larger” lifestyles when coming here?

Non-Hispanics White UnitedStateans must stop racism and white supremacy by stop eating forever.
Untrue, here in Europe, or at least in Italy I eat like the plate in the middle, I’m not of Italian origin but I often eat a plate of pasta with cheese with a second plate that usually is meat and bread or a salad
I always eat at american home size and Im not fat
And when I go to the restaurant I EXPECT big sizes like the ones on the left
>Peas
>French fries
>Wtf is the third thing on the plate??
I eat ten fish sticks
Not really, I'm from Lapland. Food portions here are pretty much identical to yours. Huge.
American who’s been abroad. I think it’s true that portions are often smaller but overall I really don’t think they consume that much less food. Even in Japan I felt like it was more or less the same. The big difference is shut like Large sodas and stuff like that.
They usually make big portion sizes for restaurants here but I feel like most people believe they have to finish whatever it is instead of taking home leftovers. It would explain all the fat people here, they get used to eating huge portion sizes and do not eat at home very often.
fish sticks
an american student noticed that food portions were at least twice as large in texas than in finland
> the Europeans utensils are baby utensils
Heh
Restaurants in Mexico give you larger portions for much cheaper, so no.
What? Taking home leftovers is way more common here than other countries.
This picture isn't true right? You could swallow the Euro plate in one bite.
>Tendies but for fish
lol wtf
Americans are fat because corn byproducts are shoehorned into everything and food industry and advertising are very poorly regulated
Medium burger with fries where I live. It's the common size.
Based Europeans with their cutting diet, gotta get shredded cunts fwaaaaaark
>eat at restaurant
>barely eat anything the rest of the day because the one big meal fills you up
>everybody else thinks you eat like a pig because the only time they ever see you eating is when you're eating two thousand calories at once
anyone else?
Portions here really depends on what kinda place it is.
The nicer and the "fancier" a place is, the smaller the portions in my experience.
But if you got a traditional restaurant serving Swedish "husmanskost", well it's gonna be a large fucking plate of food. And a lot of those places let you fill up again without charge.
Some restaurants like Cheesecake Factory are infamous for large portion sizes. I'm pretty sure that affects perceptions about all American restaurants.
Im not fat, its called "dont eat so much, lardo"
Americans are fat because they have no self control
It’s not true. Americans eat about the same as everyone else. The biggest difference is Americans just do everything wrong hormonally whereas other countries have much better habits.
No wonder you're fatasses lmao
Average meals here in average restaurants usually look something like this in size.
It's not meal size, it's food quality.
If you are eating actual food you don't need to eat like a pig, the trash that Americans consume is not real fucking food
Weak bait
that would fill me up твн
t. skinny
Fuck I need peas. It’s been so long since I’ve had peas
Costa ricans eat like sluts
What are you a gay fish
I eat peas with most meals. Cheap, tasty and fills up the belly nicely.
I have travelled all over the US and it's absolutely true
That’s the same quantity as us, but just much much better quality food. Half of the quantity there are just veggies, which you wouldn’t find in American cuisine in those amounts at a restaurant ever
They are tasty. I haven’t had peas in probably 6 Months. I’ll have to buy some next time I’m at the store
