What's up with obesity in Mexico...

What's up with obesity in Mexico? I fairly convinced there's something in their genes for them to have that many overweight people.

It the food, offal a big part of the cuisine. Offal + Lard think of it.

Genes + diet (based on corn)

Cope, I have been skinny all my life, genes don't have anything to do. Fat people are simply bad educated.

you have to be a high school graduate (at least) to post here under our flag. what an absolute terrible and low class post.

i'm getting fat and my grandma said it's during this age (i'm in my 20s) when people get fat

...

Jajajaja tacos burritos

what's the overweight and obesity rate in brazil?

Some people have a tendency to get fat. That's not even a doubt in 2020 medical science.

people in the north also sport big guts
look at the average paraense. they're all short and fat
they say it's due their consumption of yucca and açaí, yea, those are high caloric foods. I think the average portion of food you find in supermarkets being based on the diet of a person whose basal metabolic rates are of 2000 kcal doesn't help, since theirs is 1600kcal at best.
tl;dr
they don't give a fuck and lack self control

we need more fat shaming and junk food taxes

I believe that genetics is a key factor but every fatso I have met ate like a pig.

it's not genetic dude, just look at their ridiculous diet

Hahahaha How the fuck is being fat real Hahaha Nigga just walk away from the food Like nigga just close your mouth Haha

what do you know about our diet?

From my understanding they consume a shit ton of sugar

As a doctor I'd say it's about macronutrients and genetic favouring of certain metabolic pathways linked to ethnic admixture.

Have you ever seen what they eat ?

Well if i were to guess i would simply say the natives of mexico have higher tendency for obesity

I'm Mexican and thin. It's unironically because poor or uneducated Mexicans consume a lot of high calorie, low nutrient food, especially post NAFTA. Mexicans were on average pretty thin until the 90s. I'm thin and mostly eat a lot of fish, vegetables, meat and few carbs and I make most of my own food. Only time I started gaining weight was when I first moved out and was saving money by eating a lot of junk food and processed crap like McDonald's, soda and instant Ramen.

>it's le food xd

No, it's not the food. The problem is the lack of physical activity and exercise.
We don't do that. There's not an exercise culture within the population.
You can eat typical Mexican food while doing exercise and you won't get fat.

Indigenous have a hard time processing a lot of carbs. It's the same issue for many American Indians. I think Andeans are the only Amerindians that don't have severe issues with carbs.

>You can eat typical Mexican food while doing exercise and you won't get fat.
wrong

"Typical Mexican food" is also a bit of a nonsensical term to use too. People in the Yucatan for example eat differently than people in Nuevo Leon.
