Distribution of Germans in Europe
Distribution of Germans in Europe
Lol our part in blue. There's no germans there.
there isn't a single german person in alsace
There are no Germans outside of Germany
based
There's like half a million German speakers in Alsace.
yes, german SPEAKERS not people
As a matter of fact, not a single German has ever set foot in Alsace
Germans literally evaporate upon making contact with Alsacian soil
So what are they? French people who magically started speaking German for no reason?
German kids are taught they border the Atlantic Ocean for their own protection
whats the difference retard? oh, i forgot you're from france, where anyone who lives there can be french and its not based on ethnicity. youre probably an algerian too
Are there also no Italians in Corsica?
They don't have german citizenship, they don't feel german, they don't give a fuck about your country.
They are Germans.
there are no germans in elsaß-lothringen
>citizenship
oh yeah because a random piece of paper changes anything. so all africans who posess french shitizenship are of course naturally french. no difference to the white french at all.
>they don't feel german
t. someone who has never been there
Sure lad and I'm totally British
also what they "feel" like does not matter in the slightest. i can feel like a 10 meter tall pink unicorn but that doesnt make me one. they have german blood in them and that cant be changed by a state of mind
German is only spoken by old people. Nobody cares about your shitty langage. In around 20 years it will be completely dead.
>. someone who has never been there
Please tell us about the time you blended with the Alsacian locals and had passionate conversations about the Vaterland in dim lit taverns and how it's unfair they're stuck with the Fr*nch
French speaking French people who also happen to know German.
Hopefully they instead get to have German blood all over them within our lifeme
And in around 80 years French will be dead and replaced with Arabic.
Yes you are. There is no "New Zealander" ethnicity or culture or language.
They are German speaking Germans who happen to know French.
Well no. Their native language is French, they feel French and have french citizenship. Some of them learn German, some of them don't. They're as German as any other French person.
The map in OP is about first languages.
About half a million people in Alsace speak German as their first language, and that's after all the cultural assimilation into French.
When an ethnic German goes to school and gets taught French, he does not stop being German. He has merely undergone some gallicisation.
delusion
just look at their surnames. they may not speak german any more but they will always be, if they want or not
But I don't give a shit about Britain, have never visited, and would side against it in a conflict between New Zealand and the UK. If I'm British then I'm a huge traitor
However hard you try to cope the way people "feel" about it does matter.
You're still British, adopting a New Zealander identity is irrelevant.
So the minority of the population speaks it, and even among those 43%, there's quite a few of them which don't speak it as their first language.
ethnic germans you idiot
desu people from the borderland, even on the german side where called Beutedeutsche back then. "loot(ed)-germans" as a way to say they were put in the sack instead of born there.
Yep. They're ethnic French (of the alsacien subethnicity).
Yes because of gallicisation, it has been declining for a long time.
Yeah. So they are ethnic French people.
Well no that's not how it works
You tell me, what's german about them. They speak french, live in France, surrounded by french culture, have french nationality...
You just said they were ethnic French, I'm not sure you know what ethnicity means in English.
German posters on Zig Forums always complain about Alsace and it makes me ecstatic to know that we still cause so much seethe in the year 2020.
Yes, Alsace is rightfully German. Yes, it is stolen land.
No, you will not get it back. Yes, Alsatians will remain loyal to the French Republic.
>You just said they were ethnic French,
They are.
>I'm not sure you know what ethnicity means in English.
I do since that word was borrowed from my native language. Now tell me how they aren't ethnic French people.
My bad I meant it on the lines of their genetic ancestry.
