Your best bet is probably to apply for a job there if you're in an important in-demand field or through some investor visa if you have a few 100k left over. I also want to move to Spain for some time, thankfully it's extremely easy for me due to the EU.

Not necessary at all. Many people don't speak it. It is useful if you go to another Catalan city outside of the Barcelona area though
