How come pickup trucks never picked up outside America and Australia?

i think europe is the only place where pickup trucks aren't popular

Why not get a suv instead?

SUVs and Trucks already dominate the market here. It's literally all you see in roads at least here in texas.
Ford even stopped selling normal small cars in these US except for mustangs.

A pickup is more practical because you can fit odd-shaped stuff in the back. And you don't care if the back gets dirty so you can carry soil, sand, dirty muddy logs, etc.

Suv is more practical because you can stack stuff up to the roof, protect it from thieves and elements and safely transport dogs

Some people need more height for large cargo. For just a family and a dog etc though, SUV or dual cab ute is better.
