This doesn't seem to change between the West and Asia.
Why are otakus more obsessed with VTubers than anime?

disgusting white roasties pretending to be cute anime girls
no clue
the same people that called all female youtubers attention whores and roasties or whatever are now simping female youtubers with uguuu anime avatars like there is no tomorrow
it's a strange world
because it's more interactive and """real""" than anime. You can actually chat with the characters you like
No recent anime that's been interesting to me.
Korone is my favorite.
They're lonely people and are desperate for "genuine" interaction
it's the new trend but it feels more natural compared to animet desu
>channel only 3 weeks old
>already at 800K subscribers
why is Gura absolutely smashing all records?
Yubi yubi
The shark girl will literally have 1M subs before the end of the month.
she deserves it
youtu.be
too cute!
Anime isn't interactable.
>desperate for genuine
We're all hachiman?
It's 2.9D
Roasties LARPing as anime girls. Pretty bad and pathetic to like this stuff, but arguably still way better than 3D.
I hate both though
To be fair Vtubers are a completely different beast from your Twitch thot that wears a low V-neck top and does push-ups in tight yogapants for donations. Vtubers are carefully managed by a literal idol agency and are therefore expected to act like idols: non-controversial, affectionate and surprisingly they're actually expected to be talented and charismatic individuals. I'd put it like this: if the spectrum goes from Twitch Thot to Pewdiepie, Vtubers are somewhere in the middle but closer to the Pewdiepie side than the Twitch Thot side.
>EN debut of an established and widely popular Japanese agency
>Extremely cute avatar
>By far the most funny and entertaining of the EN cast
>Doesn't break character
It was inevitable
>Arguably
Not arguably. Like I said, the fact that there's an agency keeping them in line is the most important ingredient of their success formula.
I'm a solid weeb but I don't really follow any vtubers
Sometimes a few clips come up and I watch them but I don't really see the appeal of giving real women my attention
Meme.
Same way korone and fubuki got 2nd and 1st.
The difference is that shark is EN so the potential audience is way bigger so she gets subs way faster.
>A
>>By far the most funny and entertaining of the EN cast
I don't really see her appeal desu. I like Watson better because she is a huge autist
>Twitch thot that wears a low V-neck top and does push-ups in tight yogapants for donations
there are many female twitch streamers that don't do shit like that including Pokimane
First idolization of voice actresses. Next these Vtubers. 2D otaku have been losing to 3D women as they age. I predict at age 60+ they despair of not having had a gf.
Idol worship is true japanese culture
They're cute and funny, what's not to like?
>Pokimane
Nigger, are you fucking defending the one who is responsible for the term simp?
In that respect, yes.
I listen to the Japanese ones for background noise and I think it’s helping my Japanese.
>This is your brain in simping
My fucking God what's wrong with you?
I think VTubers are more interactive and available. Anime girls are only present in the show but VTubers stream live all the time and you can interact with them. Imagine if Otakus could interact with Asuka and Rei 4 days per week.
