My surname is very weird. It's Murugan, but my family pronounces it "Mergan", so I always thought it was Scottish, something like "Muir-gan". I haven't had contact with my paternal extended family since I was very young, I don't know them.
But last night I was in bed and I heard my dad on the phone downstairs, talking, and he got round to his family story.
Apparently his mother, my grandmother, had an affair with an Indian doctor in the Sixties, and was in a relationship with him at the time of my father's birth, and was separated from the man I always thought was my grandfather, so she put down her Indian boyfriend's name on the birth certificate. That's where it comes from.
My dad doesn't know (or care) who his biological father is, but I don't think we're part shitskin cause we're white af. I'm blond and blue eyed.
Fucking hell lads, I'm a norfern rorke too, so this has shocked me.
