Most jobs that require manpower today won't in the future. They can just use robots to make up for fewer workers. Countries don't need to grow continuously anyway. As long as the GDP per capita rises it's okay for the average person. According to forecasts Japan will stay bigger than all Western European countries. Only India is expected to get past it but that will be due to their population size but even then I doubt it
