Did it portray the game correctly? Did it do the retarded thing where GM's ponder a move for minutes, make it, and then are immediately checkmated?

the movie sucks, I don't remember a single emotion or plot point. He wins some tournament.

I loved the antagonist, because he is nuanced and an honorable opponent; terrific actor too, great job on the Russian, and basically he's awesome; the fucking feels.

>your idea of it and its characters is so black and white
>based on 8 words

so good

>where GM's ponder a move for minutes, make it, and then are immediately checkmated?
No. They don't even put their kings down when they give up. They see it coming miles away and don't even play.
