Just watched pic related again. How the fuck is Russel so good at writing lovecraftian, bros? His vision of Time War was also great, especially in his own last 8th Doctor story. Shame that 99% of stuff we got from him was just drama/blockbusters
On the fence weither to make a legally distinct "Doctor Who" fan film
Idea hit when my gf said Doctor Who could never have been made in Italy in the 1960s
Bad Wolf - The Parting of the Ways
Goodbye, based Nine.
I enjoyed the reality TV stuff more than I thought. It was quite funny. Anyway, the end of Series 1 couldn't have been better. It's a goddamn shame we couldn't get another series with Christopher Eccleston, but hopefully he'll return at some point. Maybe when he's 90 and he has nothing left to lose.
The return of the Daleks was certainly out of left field, not sure if I'm okay with it or not, but they were certainly different from "normal" Daleks, in that they seemed much more fanatic, and the Emperor genuinely fancying themselves a God made for good juxtaposition.
One thing that really caught my attention was Lynda telling The Doctor that what he, Rose and, I guess Adam, had done 100 years in the past actually stunted humanity's growth. That his usual "fixing things and swanning off" routine actually did make things worse for humanity. It implied that The Doctor really doesn't know better sometimes, and that he really does leave disaster in his wake, at least sometimes. I wish this was talked about more, and that Lynda had more of a reaction to learning that the man standing beside her had essentially been the reason she was subjected to the Games in the first place.
I feel this should have been a much bigger focus for the episode, and that Rose and Jack would've known. It would've been very interesting to see Jack's reaction to that, especially. I suppose they just didn't want to lay on too much conflict in the midst of the Daleks being the big bads behind everything all along, but in a sense I think I would've rather had that.
This doesn't detract from the other great parts of the finale, however, such as Captain Jack having his fun, or The Doctor admitting he would rather be a coward than a killer, in a very Genesis of the Daleks type way.
I'll be posting my Series 1 tier list next, nothing special or fancy, just in text. Afterward, it's on to Series 2.
Just found out that David Tennant's a cuck and adopted his wife's son, who was a teenage mum incidentally. That's changed the list:
>9-12-11-every other man-a literal turd-13-10.
Series One Tier List
S - Father's Day, Dalek*, The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances
A - Boom Town, Rose/The End of the World**, Aliens of London/World War Three, Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways*
B - The Unquiet Dead
C - The Long Game*
--
* Advised to watch for the overall series arc.
** The End of the World was meant to be a second part for Rose, broadcasted consecutively.
Since I reviewed the two-parters together, I'm tiering them all together as well. Let me know how retarded I am please.

But he has since had 4 kids with her
And fair play to him, but still. If she had a kid in a relationship that'd be one thing but she was just a slutty teen. Imagine you're the dad of that kid, just some cunt, and now a millionaire famous actor is running around after your spawn and doing his best to preserve your genetic legacy. Unbelievable.
Was it kino?
What was his last 8th doctor story?
Some unreleased novel about 8th using the Moment and ending the Time War. It has some pretty great imagery. But it was written before he found out about War Doctor and nothing came out of it
>Her teen pregnancy kid that isn't even related to Tennant took his name and has already been put in movies and tv
English production has the biggest fucking nepotism problem
Aw man that stinks.
I only accept it if the guy died, then it's like preserving the community but in today's world what community right?
If she had him when she was a teen, he would have been a grown up kid by the time Tennant came along
Very much so. Shame that he didn't get to cement it before BBC started to intervene in Doctor's past
Was it kino?
If i have to rewatch any nuwho base under siege episode, i will always chose Satan's Pit
I love Spider-Man
Kill it, kill the show with fire. Like how soldiers would burn crops of lands they knew would soon be invaded, we should kill all major franchises that are clearly lost. Let everything die so there can be no footholds for terrible ideas to be propped up, while creativity, that must be out there somewhere, is left to flounder. Burn it all.
And then, many years after, the doctor went back, found poor Skye, crispy but alive under the diamond sun, and decided she's served her time. Skye explains her whole tale in a edited flash back, how she got in the vehicle, her intentions, real Skye's history. The doctor felt dissatisfied with her answers, angry even, but then remembered out loud that that was just her opinion, so let her on board. The creature seized the opportunity to take control of the doctor's body. Nothing changed in the doctor's behaviour, but she was, from now on, cannonogically, the creature from planet midnight, and you are ok with that.
Restarting from the 2005 start
Just finished the first season
Tennant time
Stopped a bit after Smith started
Have I missed much good or has it been bad? Been a lot of buzz about how the woman is bad
I just finished Series 1 as well user, doing reviews on each episode.
Smith's run was alright, had a few ups and downs, mostly downs, but still not all bad.
Capaldi is pretty great. Has a few bad episodes, but just watching him perform makes the whole thing worth it.
Series 11 and 12 with Whitaker have just been utter shit. Nothing very redeeming about either of them except Graham, one of the companions.
Definitely worth watching through Smith and Capaldi.
It all starts to slowly go downhill after s6 with s11 and s12 jumping into a blackhole
I'm expecting to watch the whole way through even if it gets shit, this will be sad to see
Thank you for the warning friends
I'd pay to have 2005 - 2017 episode covers like this, the DVD collection would be seamless
The Christmas Invasion
What the fuck were those effects?
The Tenth Doctor's first outing was pretty goddamn silly, even by Who standards. Why did the Sycorax make Santa robots? What the fuck was up with that Christmas tree? I'm sure it was all in the spirit of fun or whatever, but could they really not come up with anything better? At least Tennant was fun to watch, even though you had to wait about 40 minutes to properly get to him.
I'm probably being too harsh about it, but there was hardly anything interesting at all in the time waiting for The Doctor to wake up. Rose's home drama seems to have completely dissipated, and even Mickey doesn't care much.
The only interesting part of the episode, beyond The Doctor waking up, was Harriet Jones taking the initiative and blowing the Sycorax out of the sky. I personally don't think it's too out of character for her to do so, as she obviously cares greatly about her country, and the human race. She's still the same Harriet; kind, considerate, reminding people who she is, but it definitely seemed like more of an evolution of her character, what with her being Prime Minister now and all.
First impressions are everything, and so far, not terribly impressed. Hopefully this next episode will be an improvement.
I dont think they made the pilot fish did they? Arent they used in the Racnoss episode too?
I was really disappointed in his hand regrow effect
Even that yellow energy effect would have been nice over it
Did you catch the girl breaking during that scene where all the families are walking down the street and her mother is trying to snap them out of it?
Rose sucks from now on. Sorry.
I have no clue man. I haven't watched Series 1-4 in about 8 years. If they show up again and provide some sort of explanation I guess I'll be alright with it.
Now that I'm thinking about it, there were some things dressed like Santa in The Runaway Bride, but I'm not sure they were the same.
This one? She should be ashamed of herself.
This can't be true. They can't do this to my girl. THEY CAN'T
I like to think somewhere in the vicinity of earth solar system, maybe on sto theirs a private firm that rents them out which is why every other 2bit invader uses them
oh my god what the fuck are these
Her and Ten are autually insufferable together. I like that Tenant never actually plays it as romantic as she does but they're so smug and annoying.
Thats a taxi
It looks like shit is what I'm saying - pretty petty though, it was only 2005. I shouldn't judge too harshly.
Oh god the cat being touched was way worse imo
Show some fuckin' respect, m8. Those are ships that destroyed the Trade Federation's control ship and saved the Naboo
dude if your going to contiune gettting hung up on bad cgi your going to have a very bad time
You're right, you're right. I shouldn't judge. Said so here
In the Bluray they look amazing.Check it out at 14 secs
