It's because the song writing has an extremely well done surrealistic nostalgic effect with a pure SOVL vocal performance. It also doesn't stretch itself it does what it does and doesn't stay to long, it is a proper consistent album rather than just a collection of songs. I hate the fact the album is best known as a meme because it is so good.
