Is it as bad as Brazilian posters say?
What's life here really like?

It's a little worse than living in the USA.
The difference is that here the neighborhoods are poorer and ugly, and you have to be careful not to be robbed.
Violence only occurs in the favelas.
Besides, it is normal.
The bad are the politicians and the high taxes.
No. The only really bad part is the criminality IMO. But people are quite nice and friendly (except in the south) and we have a lot of cool landscapes
How bad/good are boppers really? are they as trigger happy and immune from repercussions as tropa de elite and memes say?
>What's life here really like?
Overall, good
Just keep your distance from the favelas and you'll be fine
nice cherrypick you fucking ape
looks very comfy, though strange to see a christmas tree on a sunny day like that
They are trained to kill without mercy.

I don't think they're so uncorrupted as Tropa de Elite shows. Pretty much 50% of Rio's ghettos are dominated by corrupt cop gangs now. Even our president openly support them. And they're even more dangerous than regular criminals
The worst part is criminality by far, I was never even robbed once but it's kind of everywhere. You constantly hear about people having their phones, motorbikes, cars robbed.
Killings are probably overstated by foreigners that see news about Rio, but it's still somewhat dangerous in that regard.
Damn, what was the situation?
>I don't think they're so uncorrupted as Tropa de Elite shows.
well that's pretty much a given that no organization is faultless, i was just wondering more on the violence and use of force, but thanks.
Also how was tropa de elite received in brazil?
I think it really depends. If you live in a favela dominated by criminals in Rio, it must be awful. But I live in a small coastal town (pic related) and it's really comfy
Brazil is first world
>Also how was tropa de elite received in brazil?
It's funny, because all the creators of the movie and especially the actor of Capitão Nascimento are quite left wing and anti-violence. And Capitão Nascimento is supposed to be an anti-heroe/villain, but most people saw him as a heroe that kill all criminals with no mercy. Unfortunatelly our people are too dumb to understand this movie, and a lot of people voted for Bolsonaro because he is "the Capitão Nascimento of the real life". But they actually elected a militia's chief of Tropa de Elite 2.

I know a few italians who thought the same, the power of well done not stereotipical actually sensible critique i guess.
this is not true btw
why do leftists love criminals so much?
human rights for righteous humans.
Compared to the first world it's a nightmare obviously, but we are fine compared to some other thirdies
Retard
It's too hot, man. Can't live like that.
If you're not a retard and can make some money it's good.
>yes, he killed and raped, but it's not his fault because he's black and poor
>muh black genocide
>muh fascist police
Are you aware that militias are criminals too, right?
>why do leftists love criminals so much?
We don't. But you will never see a first world country that don't treat humans as humans, independently of what they have done. And every justice system may fail sometimes, so everytime you treat a prisioner in an inhumanly way, you may be dealing with an innocent person.
yeah, monkeys with assault rifles are very innocent.
law should conform and adapt to local reality.
brazil's criminality issue is having a third world population with first world laws.
lol, you can't have one discussion about violence in Rio withouth a carioca mentioning the police, as if Rio wasnt a violent piece of shit way before the militias were created
They look like COD in real life
Doesn't our military police kinda look cod irl too? Pretty sure that's normal
Its actually pretty comfy, life in the northeast (fortaleza) is good, if you are wealthy its even better, i just wish our economy was better for average brazilian
esquerdista boqueteiro
sua vida é 1 piada
because december 21st december is the summer equinox here, our winter is in july
Why brazilians have to type 500 letters to say lefty?WTF?
boqueteiro means someone who sucks cock
the main problem imo is the violence, we can kinda cope with being poor
>yeah, monkeys with assault rifles are very innocent.
You see? That's why we tell you to study, instead of arguing with you. You can't even understand a simple phrase. I'm not talking about actual criminals, our prisons are filled with spacegoats of rich criminals, drug addicts and people that didn't even got judged to begin with. You can't generalize all of them.
Our country already treats criminal as victim
My cousin is running from the police for drug trafficking and need only to stay hidden until his time is done to be considered a innocent man,his brother on the other hand (that gave himself away for having more morals) need to deal with gang factions inside of the prisons because most of the ones that are in the prison has already made a home there.
We need to kill all those "people" that lives on jail,is a waste of tax payer money
