>internet data cap
lmao literally third world tier
this is the price of being truly free from universal healthcare
But all their costumers will walk away. What do they mean by this?
It's cumcast jewing you into using their equipment. Because if you get a cumcast modem they wave that data cap.
Most ISPs have a monopoly. I literally have 1 provider choice here in SoCal
Glad I dont have them. Streaming a 4k movie is .1 TB.
Sine places only have one company and the government doesn't force or entice other companies to move in. I have like 3 different services here though.
Utilities like that are regulated monopolies in set areas since it's cost prohibitive/illegal for most people to do them.
>running away from a monopoly
can I like make my own modem and provide myself with internet on my own? I know how dumb this question sounds but I’m srs
lol at the american """""free"""""market
I mean technically you can by moving to a competitive zone with a population density of a set amount. Other than that gl.
I need to buy Comcast shares.
Comcast is overburdened with debt from being forced to cover people that it's not profitable for them to do. Same with centurylink. Would recommend verizon/att if you want an ISP to invest in.
Congratulations, you now realize that Internet is a utility and that private utilities are retarded.
So I have a question for you my friend. Much of my state is not profitable to run powerlines yet people out there have electricity. How do they do it?
can't remember what isp my brother had in NY but it sucked monkey balls, we were having troubles all the time with the tv and the Internet was super slow
I have rural internet. 100GB a month for $100.
I use this site with all images turned off until a thread text interests me enough to turn it on.
kinda this, they've been fighting over a new glass fibre net for years and the upc guys ripped me for a coax fibre, finally we had a vote and instead of a private company the city's electricity company built the glass net. now I have optical fibre and 20 different carriers to choose from for cheap and google has their Europe headquaters here.
>100GB a month for $100.
Stop telling lies on the internet.
I'll tell something that burns your ass.
There are people in the middle of fuck nowhere Colorado where the nearest town has a population of 100 and these people have 1000/1000 internet.
It’s this because net neutrality was killed?
I just upgraded mine, 30 yurobux a month
He isn't lying.
No it's because comcast wants to keep it's revenue up since zoomers don't bundle tv with their internet and to get people to rent their equipment.
The New World, I bow
That's how it be man. If I didn't spend $32,000 to have a line ran to my house I wouldn't have internet.
Did you consider just getting a mobile connection or satellite internet?
I can't even call 911 where I live let alone NOAA transmissions. See to know why I didnt do satellite internet. Besides I got a deal it was only $15,000 per mile.
>generic american thread on Zig Forums #123123123
>hahaha i have guns, this increases my freedoms! look at me europoor!
>generic american thread on Zig Forums a day later #123123123
>generic freedom that every europoor has is being denied to the american
many such cases
I mean, I'd rather take the option to pay out of my ass for a capped connection than pay out of my ass to have the privilege to have a capped connection that you still have to pay for.
Im not capped by my ISP but again if they just pay for a comcast modem or an additional $50/mo they have no data cap. My situation is different as I literally live in such a middle of nowhere and I really don't have any other options than spend the money to build out internet to my property.
That's not really fair, Europe is so densely populated that infrastructure is a lot easier to get to everyone. Look at Canada, it's trying to emulate Europe in most of the things it does, but it's still difficult and / or expensive to get Internet for everyone over there.
>So I have a question for you my friend. Much of my state is not profitable to run powerlines yet people out there have electricity. How do they do it?
You can thank FDR for that.
