French people are white c*cks
Knights are chads
sure thing Ricardo
knights were present in every feudal society, from scotland to sicily from portugal to georgia
Oh fuck is that a frenchman Im sorry sir I wont do it again it was just a shitpost I promise I didnt mean anything
true but the word knight is english which makes knights english. It's actually derived from an older word which meant servant and is cognate with the german word knecht which also means servant
I prefer this, go back cutting bushes amarite mister Martinez?
france was a gigachad tier country before WW2
people memeing the HEHE FRENCH SURRENDEHR LOLE are dumb zoomers
i respect the french for their impact on the world today
Thank you. We also acknowledge the economical and naval hegemony of the Netherlands after their independence.
Me too, based Guillaume d'Orange.
>knight - Knecht
interesting, wasn't aware of that until now
also, to other anons: what's the word for knight in your language and what is it derived from?
in German it's Ritter which is derived from Reiter, which means rider
which armor is the armor for you?
Everyone hate the French so the achievements of our ancestors will always be belittled and if possible tragically erased or distorted by our 'so called' white brothers from the anglos world or other European nation.
We will not forget
Its strange, but most of the knightly imagery and so on I grew up seeing was actually north italian rather than french or english. I think medieval lower germany/north italy is the most kino setting for the middle ages.
Meant for this user
Knight is chevalier in French which is derived from horse (cheval)
thank you. there are so many braindead retards that keep spitting on france for the ww2 surrender while jerking off to deus vult without realizing the first crusade was almost entirely french
>Noooo I refuse to let this to the French, we must take everything from them!!
Fuck you swedecuck. The French were the kings of the Middle Age, you will not take this from us
Not match for peasants wielding longbows of course.
yea it's mostly tradzoomers from america, I feel like they dont learn anything about europe other than WWII
Even in other places outside of Europe, like Sassanid Persia (asawaran).
Cope
Yeah I'm thinking France is based

>late 15 century
medieval era had already jumped the shark by then with ballistics technology, no longer kino. 1250-1350 were the best, peak years for knights.
Teutons/templars were most aesthetic and soulful
NIce, try this one fren
Vitez. It's Slavic.
I actually know that and dont really get the surrender monkey thing nor the them being effeminate thing, I like frenchies and wish I could be born in France instead of here. I said that just because saying white c*ck sounds really funny
every man who rides a horse to battle is called a knight here.
The Lithuanian word for knight is 'riteris'. So same as your picrel.
The Lithuanian equivalent for chevalier is 'kavalierius'. It's used to describe a good, upstanding guy who is showing romantic interest in a girl. The word is typically used by elder relatives of the girl.
Houbdskull looking more like a tittyskull
I was looking up wallpapers of France yesterday and found this, its so fucking beautiful
Nah, italian city states in general were the true kino, and they had influences from literally everyone. Frenchfags and germoids fought each other there for control so their armors and customs had influences from the big guys while mantaining the chaos and freedom of city states, which ended up leading to renaissance.
Of course. This guy is the embodiment of chivalry
The longbow ain't had shit against proper French armor:

yeah but what does it mean?
Italian city state aesthetic post 1450 isn't "medieval" in my mind, it's somewhere in between the real medieval knight era and the colonial gunpowder era.
Yes but during Italian Wars for example Italian heavy cavalry (not really knights in classic sense, but functionally the same) were regularly raped by French gendarmes.
The best knights were spanish :)
So... for example the mongolian horde would be a horde of knights?
In Georgian there are a couole of words for Knight. მოყმე(mok'me) is derived from k'ma which is servant. ჭაბუკი(tchabuki) meaning a young man. and also რაინდი (Raindi) A man whos good with horses
I'm not saying post 1450, everything I described was happening all through out the middle ages.
A knight is a vitez in slavic, which is derived from proto germanic *wīkingaz
Esentially, knights are vikings.
Caballero. From caballo (horse).
It also stands for formal for "man". Damas y caballeros... is ladies and gentlemen...
Knighthood is a way more important and complex notion in the Kingdom of France, it's a code of honor, a way of life.
Caballero.
Caballo=Horse.
are you a Georgian Jew? I've heard of Caucasus Jews but still surprising
Apparently "provider, protector" in Proto-Slavic.
>Based on the ethnonym Proto-Germanic *wīkingaz (whence Old Norse víkingr (“bay's dweller”)). Similar semantic shift ethnonym hero, legendary figure is also found in Proto-Slavic *spolinъ, *spolovъ (“giant”) from the name of a Sarmatian people.
Thats after the period I'm referring to though.
We also have "cavalier" cognate to French chevalier
based one of course
>knight in spanish also means gentleman
>tfw when you get called a knight when someone talks to your formally in spanish
The fact that the scale of their conflicts were smaller and less influential on greater Europe makes it less interesting for me
it somehow looks futuristic.
This. Heavy cavalry or just cavalry and knights in European sense are different things. But there were similar institutions in other cultures, like in Persia as I mentioned.
based user, here is the full version

Wasn't all the armor of the French and German knights made by Italian artisans anyway
I'm not a caucasus jew, Georgian jews are separate and there are a lot of them in Israel. i dont feel jewish though because my great grandfather was the only jew in my family and he kinda jewd the entire line. I grew up in Georgia and my family mived here like 3 years ago. i cant even speak hebrew
it pretty much was for its time comparable to tanks in ww1
Italian city states were the most influential part of "greater europe" at the time though, and their conflicts werent smaller, Italy was literally the battlefield of most French vs HRE wars, and everyone wanted to have influence or control on the papacy. You dont really get a more central position in europe than them at the time.
France has some magical places
GOTHIC
living standard must be much better in Israel than in Georgia I guess
how do you get by if you don't know Hebrew, is English enough? or do you know Russian too, lots of Israelis know Russian since they're from the former USSR, right?
Knights were a sort of samurais, they had an unbreakable honor code.
>here it is, the perfect medieval map
Fluted Plate armour!
Using plebe- tier tipped arrows.
I fucking kneel
Vgh...
armor is for pussies, best protection is fabulousity which blinds the enemy and steel nuts that protect the nether regions :r)
I forgot to mention also being able to control trade to the orient and so on, Italian city states were the ports of europe basically, with a lot of colonies and trading outposts. Theres a reason most crusades sailed out from italian cities and so on.
