My heart bleeds for Prussia

How am I supposed to be thankful when this atrocity continues to go unpunished?
Why all this talk of "Native American genocide" while this genocide continued to go unacknowledged?

Idk bro a lot of historians acknowledge the Soviets relocation of entire people groups as they redrew the borders of Eastern Europe, Tbf the borders of Poland somewhat reflect the borders of medieval Poland(1066)

It’s just that pop media hasn’t brought it to the large scale audience

I’m not a historian just talking out of my ass, pulling from some wiki article or YouTube video I watched so I might be wrong

Native americams didn't deserve it, Germans did.

You actually believe this

Are you saying Germans didn't deserve it, or Native Americans did?

It kinda does suck, even though modern-day Germany with a single dominant state like Prussia would be hard to imagine. The past is the past, we'll never get it back and it's not like Hitler's autism didn't ask for it. We're fine without it, but I must admit I sometimes think about it and come to the conclusion that wars (especially wars you lose) suck.
Maybe, in an ideal world, Prussia would have been kept alive, Germany would have given the majority Polish lands of Poznan/Posen to Poland (Gdingen as well if they want a coast so bad) and maybe >we could have unified with Austria. But alas, fate went another path and it's fine.

>Like bro who doesn’t like sabaton
Faggots, that's who.

VGH.... PREVSSEN GROSSGERMANVM

I mean if you guys didnt start the war then the international community was ready to maintain peace after the Munich conference. Even danzig would have probably become German through diplomacy if you gave Poland enough time and compensation to build Gdansk into a port big enough to handle all the nations shipping.

I said it was deserved, but let's just say people felt fucked over by Versailles and Weimar was a failure if we're being honest. Easy for someone like Hitler to exploit the situation, rational thought don't really survive in situations like that. If I could turn back time knowing I had the power to change everything, I would do it. Honestly: Germany should have been allowed to unite with Austria, both countries wanted it and it would maybe have sufficed to make people feel like losing the war didn't end up in a total catastrophe.

>Even danzig would have probably become German through diplomacy if you gave Poland enough time and compensation to build Gdansk into a port big enough to handle all the nations shipping.
Do you mean building Gdynia/Gdingen into a big port? Danzig and Gdansk are the same thing. Or did I misunderstand you?

ok but what about the old prussians aka balts

It's doing better than ever in history. At least on Polish side.

What about them? Prussians and the Prusi don't have a lot in common, it's mostly about the area they occupied. It's not like the Prusi became Prussians over time. Sure, there is Baltic and Polish influence.

>the virgin Gdansk
>the chad Danzig

Meant Gdynia not Gdansk.
And yes I agree about Germany losing certain territories like Stettin, posen, and Austria was cruel but at the same time there was alot of hate, fear, and a need for revenge at the end of the war, it just wasnt plausible at the time for the Allies to hand those over to a nation they spent 5 years in the most bloody war in history.

And also Poland got fucked by losing its eastern territories to the Soviets. It just made sense (for the allies) to compensate them at the expense of Germanys loss

I fully agree, never said anything else. I'm mostly talking about WW1 though: Punishment for WW2 obviously was well deserved, even if it really sucked ass. I just think allowing Germany and Austria to fuse in 1920 would have been a good idea, perhaps it would have soothed many people. Also, many people deemed the votes after WW1 unfair: Germany and Austria weren't allowed to fuse. Schleswig-Holstein was divided in two zones because they knew Holstein would stay with Germany, they were as rigid as not allowing the Schleswig town of Tondern (which had voted German) to stay with Germany even though it was right on the border of the zones. However, Upper Silesia voted German as well, it was one zone, but then they came up with dividing it in two regions as well and then they were like "Well, these regions voted for Poland, so gone they are". Etc, etc. Many people felt like they were being fucked over. I just want to say that I think they could have done things differently and maybe people wouldn't have fallen for a retard like Hitler.

It was deserved, still. There had to be punishment after WW1 and there definitely had to be even harder punishment after WW2. It's understandable, I don't complain. But there might have been other ways to do it, at least after WW1.

Yeah i fully agree, I despise Wehraboo Zig Forumstards but some of the loss of territory after WW1 was dubious at best and just malicious at worst, but the past is the past and sadly for Germans and Germany any kind of reintegration of lost territory is just plain impossible (except maybe Austria). Good thing for you guys is atleast you kept the important parts so Germany could still climb to the top of Europe again.

Germany's terms were lenient compared to what was imposed on Russia.

Maybe. I guess this is just all talking in hindsight after all.

> However, Upper Silesia voted German as well, it was one zone,
The vote was split before German and Polish parts, even after German terror against Poles and mass voter dumping from Germany.
Be grateful that German was allowed to keep existing and pray we never alter our deal further.

What said, Brest-Litovsk was an absolute travesty
>Russia lost 34% of its population, 54% of its industrial land, 89% of its coalfields, and 26% of its railways.
Meanwhile Versailles wasn't even that harsh. Reparations that Germany didn't end up paying, and minimal territorial losses. The second chimpout was completely unjustified really, and had the Entente decided to actually invade Germany instead of suing for peace, the stab-in-the-back myth would never have been a thing.

Wewuzzing and whining about lost territories would be way easier and way more prevalent if Germany was a shithole now. We turned out alright, my grandparents said they never thought the country would recover like this back when the war had just ended. Reunification must have been amazing as well, even if there are still problems until today. My city was ~65% destroyed, one of the better places.

Today, claiming areas that don't speak German anymore surely is incel tier garbage, no one does that as well. We don't even talk about Austria, it's a very tricky debate and most people just ignore it. Austria would never join anyway. Eupen-Malmedy isn't important enough to be a topic either, Luxemburg is now very cosmopolitic. So no one cares, we're aight and it's good that way. But this definitely is the bare minimum, I always roll my eyes when I see someone on here post a map with France owning the Rhineland, this is at least as cringe as the Großgermanium fantasies (which most of the time aren't made by Germans).

In the end we always win. Prussia may have thought they defeated us for good in 1866 but we played the long game biding our time sending our agents infiltrating the highest levels of German government and destroying Prussia from within.

>We turned out alright, my grandparents said they never thought the country would recover like this

Only because Germany avoided paying war reparations to Poland and could used transferred Germans as cheap labour

No they are made by Americans. And to be honest, in recent times what difference does it make if small fragments of land that speak German arent in Germanys borders? You guys have free travel, same currencies, etc

>destroy your own empire to get revenge 150 years later
Based

>but some of the loss of territory after WW1 was dubious at best and just malicious at worst

Not really, the territories were overwhelmingly Polish even according to the Germans before the war.
In honesty Germany should have lost much more territory after WW1, going even as far as dividing it into separate states again.

That's what Clemenceau intended to do but he was cockblocked by Wilson and Lloyd George
