realistically, do they actually have a chance in being a superpower?
Realistically, do they actually have a chance in being a superpower?
yes
no. need 100 more years
in order to become a superpower you need to destroy the cultures and traditions of a nation and enslave your populace. china uses a police state, america uses the panem et circenses. india doesn't so it will always be the n°2
it is inevitable
>realistically
no
but purely theoretically, yes. they're one of the only 3 countries that could literally ever be a superpower
aren't they already? it's 2020 already.
I see americans only
so basically be more authoritative. present govt is trying to be one. libs oppose it
Nope. They are internally fragmented, lack neo-colonial territory, and their environment is on the brink of collapse.
Why would they want to be a superpower? What's the point?
>They are internally fragmented
aren't we all?
no it's not enough to be authoritarian. everyone has to be the same and behave the same. everyone has to think the same. your country is half a continent big and has one of the most diverse macrocultures in the world. unless you destroy it on the altar of either communism or capitalism, you won't achieve that goal
Yes, but there is a limit if one wishes to become a global superpower.
We are going to be a superpower in 2040.
I believe that India, not China, needed communism.
It is our country's fault that China has become communist, but that was a mistake. It had its advantages, but it destroyed tradition.
probably
If the farmer wins
Based farmer supporting chad
you'd need huge wide-scale social reforms that would spawn huge reactionary protests.
it would be very, very hard.
Farmer wins-> communism established-> cultural revolution-> no hindu-> become the second china-> ???-> profit
How is Filipinos second?
Based
Obviously, they have the potential and face many challenges.
I don't see the jews
Seems like there's no data. They probably identify as white. I did find that around 44% of Jews have income above 100k, highest in the US, this is followed by Hindus at 36%.
about ten years ago i was under the impression that india and south africa would be developed nations by now. kek.
Yes, they dominate the field of computer science.
they really don't. indian programmers are dog shit theres just a lot of them.
True. Jews are just too powerful
I finished my term paper on this topic about a week ago
TL;DR
>you need to be in the top two or three countries in terms of nominal GDP to be a superpower and India is like sixth
>their economy was growing really fast for a little bit, but then it slowed down again and now it's in a depression tier shitstorm because of COVID
>their military isn't battle tested or particularly well equipped, and they have a terrible military-industrial complex compared to the US, China, or Russia, so they're unlikely to be a military hegemon any time soon
>they like to be non-aligned, so they're unlikely to join any superpower bloc or develop their own bloc
So if their economy picks up and they actually get good at making military equipment and having global influence, maybe. But they'll probably continue to be a middle power.
Heh... India just needs a few more years....the up and coming superpooper....heh....just need some more time
Why do the most prestigious companies like Google/Microsoft recruit them then?
The fact that they are more numerous does not take away the fact that they dominate the IT domain.
Only if we start investing huge money in the North East
