I'm sorry but we're likely the only intelligent life form that currently exists in the observable universe
Didnt the news already say USA and Israel have been talking to aliens already?

>100 light years away
oh
Send all of africa there and bankrupt them.
Agreed. Finland should colonize it
Space is so big, it really puts a dent in my fantasies of a galaxy colonized by humans :(
Norway
>YASSS I FUCKING LOVE THIS PLANET THAT'S 100 LIGHTYEARS AWAY WITH NO WAY OF GETTING THERE FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE
>TESS mission elapsed: 2 years
>confirmed planets found: 46
pathetic
artificial environments are much more interesting and feasible than a habitable planet.
100 years ago they said the same thing about the Moon.
>first
Bullshit. There's a few discovered every year. By first, they meant it's the first discovered with the TESS.
Definitely India. Whites will massacre them. Chinese will eat them. Jews will permanently stereotype humanity as merchant. Amerikkkans will definitely use them as scapegoat to buy more weapons. Japanese are socially retarded.
Chile, we already own the moon and the Antarctica.
that finnish guy who wants to fuck aliens and sleeps outside naked with an family sized astroglide-bottle (me)
>*puts flag on moon*
>*leave and never return*
whats the point outside of some autistic space race with commies? any plans to build moon base at least?
yeah it says so in the headline
Where are the foundations for traveling at near Light speed or some other measure of getting there in less than 200 years?
Finland, because i want to come back home already.
There are 2*10^12 galaxies in the observable universe, each with around 10^8 stars. If we are generous and assume that each star is a dice roll for intelligent life, it only needs to be as rare as flipping a coin on the same side 66 times in a row. This doesn't even take into consideration that they would need to exist at the same time as us. Human civilization has only been around for a couple thousand years, which is nothing in the time span of the universe
We don't even know how likely it is for life in general to appear, never mind intelligent life. There have been millions if not billions of life forms on Earth, and after all this time we are the only intelligent species. All the other hominids died out already. Would we even exist, if that asteroid hadn't happened to wipe out the dinosaurs first. What about geography, if the continents weren't the shape they are now, we probably wouldn't have been able to expand as efficiently. Imagine if we had evolved on a Pangaea supercontinent, our development would have been totally different. And even now with all our technology, we are in constant danger of being wiped out by Yellowstone or a gamma burst from space. There are so many things that need to go right for something like us to exist, that 66 coin tosses is probably generous
>HOW DARE PEOPLE THINK FUTURE PAST THEIR LIFETIME?
>I'LL SHOW THEM!
my honda civic
>100 light years away
next
It depends what you mean by "Earth sized". Most have so far been so called "Super-Earths".
>any plans to build moon base at least?
Yes, they were planning to do it back then but they got defunded. The Artemis program is intending to do it now but NASA is dicking around with their shit SLS rocket. SpaceX will land on Mars before NASA lands on the moon again
space exploration is a waste of money
ur mom too
The moon is 1.25 light seconds away from the earth
I think 100 light years might be a bit more
>check out this heckin' new planet that scienetists discovered which may contain aliens!!
Prove to me, using the King James Bible, that aliens exist or fuck off to Reddit
