Sociopath is more fitting.

Nightcrawler man is a sociopath?
I mean, his actions are all logical, and at the start he doesn't really get social cues not to mention his ability to comprehend things really quickly

Isn't sociopathic behavior more malicious and irrational?

He seems to have no regard for other peoples well being and is very manipulative. I'm not expert but that's what I got from it.

He also tries talking to the tv in the news room thinking the person on screen can hear him which was pretty autistic

He is clearly a sociopath, he lacks empathy, which makes him seem autistic in some situations. However in situations he can control, and you can see him wanting to be in control, he is clearly more than just autistic. The movie is basically American Psycho but for the media, thematically it even wouldn't make sense for him to be autistic. Rewatch the movie.

he was an autistic savant for being a sociopath

Autistics want to be more in control though.
Also keep in mind the various quirks he has like getting spastic over minor things and watering the plant every morning

It's not sociopathy that led him to kill his Co worker it's risk v reward

His coworker was really annoying. That was a very satisfying conclusion.

Especially considering the fact that the spic was literally homeless and turning tricks and just a general retard

I love movies where the good guys win

you gotta water a plant every morning though or it will die. he most likely read online about being a better/successful person and taking responsibility for the care of a plant is step one followed by an animal etc. that might be for recovering junkies/alcoholics but it’s a rather common theme for self help

Based Gilroy
Dude wrote all the good Bourne movies too (not the shit fifth one)
Dunno about that Denzel Washington movie though, that was a bit meh

>the media
>good guys

It's used deliberately to show his autism since a sociopath wouldn't care about some fucking plant.

Also remember the scene where he was watching some shitty comedy and laughed like a hyena at some non funny shit?

Sociopath is a buzzword but yeah he has ASPD, his logic excludes empathy

Collateral

Wasn’t high-functioning autism classified as a form of sociopathy early on? There can certainly be an overlap, specifically lack of empathy.

yeah but he is always talking about keys to success that he’s clearly read from some website as he even mentions. he probably read that laughing and being personable make other people like you so he laffin. he wasn’t street smart but used his “book smarts”/self help bullshit to try and get ahead. he just doesn’t have a moral compass

Never seen it. But if it is similar to drive. You would like Wheelman (2017).

Well that's the difference, sociopaths mimic emotions really well, whilst Lou can't, like compare Patrick Bateman to Lou and they're clearly worlds apart. Like a sociopath wouldn't get diagnosed by some brainlet spic whilst an autistic would

the movies whole point doesn't make sense if he has autism.

Why?

the movie is about how lack of empathy and especially sociopathic behaviour is encouraged in the news world. "if it bleeds it leads" is what the news lady even says, and she is attracted to his intense and detached persona. Just like in american psycho you cannot tell an actual sociopath apart from "normal" businessmen.

it's a movie about unrestrained judiasm. gyllanburg just plays himself as an average jew.

it isn't

you're the user who just got a 60" TV, right? glad you liked it. was its visuals/cinematography suited to your expectations? found out it only used a mixture of Panasonic 35mm and sub-4K ARRI cameras but I think it's neat.

trailer is kinda kino on its own too, btw:

I mean not really
It's not like the other news guys were sociopaths

Like if Lou is a sociopath he's a really bad one because he often says what he actually thinks or feels (which is more of a trait of aspies and autistics)

Sociopaths would never go
>I'll hurt you
To the person they were going to hurt
They would just do it

>Lou Bloom is autistic

So he’s a misanthropic go getter?

Also Lou
>on Tuesdays the anchor wears a blue tie
>Oh a yellow tie it must be Friday

that's just being charismatic though, it shows you take notice of the other person on even the most minuscule things like their tie and makes them feel more welcoming/friendly to you

Charismatic people don't keep track of what you wear day to day

Autistics do

it's him being charismatic to aid with his sociopathy and manipulation, not just charismatic on its own.

You most certainly don't water a plant everyday because otherwise you'll overwater it and kill it. You're supposed to just keep the soil moist
