>Theatrical>Extended
True for ZERO (0) films in the entire human history, regardless of genre, country, decade or length,

>cutting Saruman's death

Why did Legilas shoot Grima is my main question

Alien
Close Encounters
E.T.
Apocalypse Now
Every Judd Apatow movie.

Yes, like I said, true for zero films.

>cutting the Scouring of the Shire

Scouring of the Shore is lame and only serves as Tolkien trying to fellate himself over his own feelings of returning to Bongland after the war.

The thetrical bluray is better both visually and narratively yes.

Nah, it just further emphasises that not only have the characters changed but the place they held in esteem and hoped to return to had fallen due to the cruel mechanisms of war. In Jacksons film, it seems that the war between good and evil never even reached the ears of Hobbits.

Retard...

Retard...

I enjoy the context added by the additional scenes, but they screw up the pacing.

Oh stop you sad pathetic little man. This entire thread is one giant contrarian jerk off.

Fellowship being longer adds to its comfiness.

>E.T.
Are you out of your fucking mind? Even Spielberg apologized and then released a heretofore mythical version of E.T. complete with dialogue that was excised back in 1982 to make up for it.

>but they screw up the pacing.
No they don't, you're just impatient and used to the old order.
Fun fact: Cameron released some copies of the Aliens VHS tapes as theatrical and some with added scenes, all without any notice.

Yes but only for Two Towers.

I agree for return of the king, the witch king breaking gandalfs staff fucking infuriated me

I agree, that blue filter sucks some major dick

Just release the thetrical cuts on blu ray without filters with optional deleted scenes and you get the best experience.

YES YES YES YES YES

Which scenes should they cut? Can't think of any for Fellowship but some for the other two.

SKULL AVALANCHE

The only thing the theatrical cut got right compared to Cameron's Special Edition is during the egg discussion. Bishop conjecturing about the queen is unnecessary and obviously spoils what's to come. The theatrical edit where they all just look worried at each other when Ripley asks "so who's laying these eggs?" keeps a nice tension hovering

Other than that, the SE is far superior to the original, specially because they cut the Amanda Ripley part. That scene was great and I can see why Sigourney was furious when she learned it'd gone into the shitter back in 86

The new opening and new hobbit scenes are uneccesary in fellowship. The trip to see lady Galadriel also isnt needed.

>Close Encounters

That movie confused everybody and caused arguments between people who saw diffrent versions of the movie because they added the inside of the alien ship in the re-release.

There are a lot of scenes that could have stayed on the cutting room floor. The problem with Two Towers and ROTK EE is that they overexplain what only needed a little exposition in the Theatrical. We dont need to see the alliances Saruman made or have it shoved down our throat that Gollum is crazy or the motivation behind the riders of Rohan leaving. The drinking and celebration scenes also go on too long and all the goofier decisons like the army of the dead sequence are just there because a lot of work went into them (even though they suck).

Is Alien 3 the only instance of Theatrical vs. Special Edition where the SE turned a complete turd into something at least watchable? It's still flawed but holy shit the first time I watched the A3 director's cut I thought it was a completely different movie

The cabal cut or recent directors cut of Nightbreed are better because the movie doesnt make sense with those scenes deleted. Id also argue the Ultimate edition of Legend makes the movie deeper and more engaging.

It was warning shot, his aim got compromised when Gimli moved his bow. Turn your fucking phone off.
