He isn't even funny. He is so bland.
He isn't even funny. He is so bland
He always looks insecure, which he should be.
Awww the chuddy wuddy incel got triggered so had to run back to his safe space :(
Anyone who is that ugly would be insecure desu user
His jokes are all the same and he pretends to be an edgy, dangerous rebel type of comedian when he is the establishment's mouthpiece disguised as humor. He is for midwit redditors.
>Awww the chuddy wuddy incel got triggered so had to run back to his safe space :(
Like all these Daily Show characters who got their own shows, they were always much better as occasional segments, with The Colbert Report being the exception.
What makes it even more troubling is the fact that the people who like this show believe they are free-thinking, deep, intelligent, enlightened people who see through society's lies and aren't brainwashed like those "dumb conservatives".
Now even Colbert is insufferable. I wish he'd stop with the 24/7 Trump coverage and impressions it's just not funny.
post face pussy
Make me you big fat shidder
Why was he so bothered by Trump eating two scoops of ice cream?

>Hegel’s critique of subjective humor is more actual than ever today. One of the popular myths of the late Communist regimes in Eastern Europe was that there was a department of secret police whose function was (not to collect, but) to invent and put in circulation political jokes against the regime and its representatives, as they were aware of jokes’ positive stabilizing function (political jokes offer to ordinary people an easy and tolerable way to blow off steam, easing their frustrations).
I don't get how someone can stomach so much selling out night after night like that. Even with the money, how does anyone with a shred of dignity or self-respect subject themselves to that for so long. Even Jimmy Fallon drinks because of it.
>And, at a different level, the same holds for Trump. Remember how many times the liberal media announced that Trump was caught with his pants down and committed a public suicide (mocking the parents of a dead war hero, boasting about pussy grabbing, etc.). Arrogant liberal commentators were shocked at how their continuous acerbic attacks on Trump’s vulgar racist and sexist outbursts, factual inaccuracies, economic nonsense, etc., did not hurt him at all but maybe even enhanced his popular appeal. They missed how identification works: we as a rule identify with the other’s weaknesses, not only or even not principally with the strengths. Which means that the more Trump’s limitations were mocked the more ordinary people identified with him and perceived attacks on him as condescending attacks on themselves. The subliminal message of Trump’s vulgarities to ordinary people was: »I am one of you!«, while Trump supporters felt constantly humiliated by the liberal elite’s patronizing attitude towards them. As Alenka Zupančič put it succinctly, “the extremely poor do the fighting for the extremely rich, as it was clear in the election of Trump. And the Left does little else than scold and insult them.”[4] Or, we should add, the Left does what is worse still: it patronizingly “understands” the confusion and blindness of the poor… This Left-liberal arrogance explodes at its purest in the new genre of political-comment-comedy talk shows (Jon Stewart, John Oliver…) which mostly enact the pure arrogance of the liberal intellectual elite:
can britain stop sending us their shit comedians?
brand, gordon, oliver
based
He has a pretty weak hairline, so there's probably a lot of product in his hair to keep his combover thing frozen in place
>“Parodying Trump is at best a distraction from his real politics; at worst it converts the whole of politics into a gag. The process has nothing to do with the performers or the writers or their choices. Trump built his candidacy on performing as a comic heel — that has been his pop culture persona for decades. It is simply not possible to parody effectively a man who is a conscious self-parody, and who has become president of the United States on the basis of that performance.”[5]
>In my past work, I used a joke, popular among dissidents, from the good old days of Really-Existing Socialism. In the 15th century Russia occupied by Mongols, a farmer and his wife walk along a dusty country road; a Mongol warrior on a horse stops at their side and tells the farmer that he will now rape his wife; he then adds: “But since there is a lot of dust on the ground, you should hold my testicles while I’m raping your wife, so that they would not get dirty!” After the Mongol finishes his job and rides away, the farmer starts to laugh and jump with joy. Surprised, the wife asks him: “How can you be jumping with joy when I was just brutally raped in your presence?” The farmer answers: “But I got him! His balls are full of dust!” Politically incorrect as it sounds, this joke brings out a sad truth. It tells of the predicament of dissidents: they thought they are dealing serious blows to the party nomenklatura, but all they were doing was getting a little bit of dust on the nomenklatura’s testicles, while the nomenklatura went on raping the people… And can we not say exactly the same about Jon Stewart & Co. making fun of Trump? Do they not just dust his balls, or, in the best of cases, scratch them?
It sucks too because I know Colbert is actually a very funny guy.
his fanbase are the poster children for the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Yeah and aren't they already rich anyway? Why don't they just quit? It seems to me that either they are brainwashed themselves and believe their own garbage, or the people in power have dirt on them and use that as blackmail to keep them going.
Conservashits are uneducated trump chud cultists who vote against their own economic interests
>Formulaic television is elite Jewish brainwashing
depends: some episodes are funny, especially when it's against stuff without any or small political agenda (televangelist is probably his best episode ever)
they problems are : 1-he wants to do both a comedic show and a news at the same fucking time, when there are obvious tones problems in going to >funny gag man to >let's talk about this horrible crime 2- he is too fucking arrogant and selfcentered 3- too many episodes: should half of them, but better researched
Don't forget:
>*person says something Oliver agrees with*
>He/She's right, you know!
>*person says something Oliver disagrees with*
>Holy shit! That's like saying X is Y when it really is Z!
His style of comedy is so predictable.
