Guys I have a movie party, and everyone always hates my suggestions, what's a fun movie on criterion that everyone would love?

Fun as in an easy crowd-pleaser or fun as in it's not arthouse shit

Gosh user I dont know if only you could select a film that wasnt from the criterion collection oh jeez whatever to do?

4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days

Armageddon
The Rock
Blow Out

I want a movie that's artistically engaging but still a popcorn crowd-pleaser. I was thinking about Brazil, but my big bro hated The Adventures of Baron Munchausen

Born Free (feelgood movie)
Picnic at Hanging Rock (mysterious, good for talking about afterwards)

Female Trouble
Polyester
House
Frances Ha
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls
Il Sorpasso
Eating Raoul
Lady Snowblood
Lone Wolf and Cub series
Most Kurosawa samurai stuff

dunno. there aren't a tonne of "crowd-pleaser" "fun" criterion, but my movie watch group responds pretty well to this sort of stuff.

The Rock is on criterion? Fucking based.

basado

do you get drunk? If yes, House is a good crowd pleaser.

>artistically engaging but still a popcorn crowd-pleaser.

y tho

because some of us eat popcorn instead of boogers when we watch movies

Tampopo, Charlie Chaplin's stuff, Jackie Chan's stuff. Mad Max is actually streaming this month too.

>I want a movie that's artistically engaging but still a popcorn crowd-pleaser
Not possible.

The Cremator, very fun.

You guys know OP is a shill? He makes threads about Criterion and their stream service every day.

And? I’d rather have more people talk about criterion than kikeflix and amasöy

>Basedest choice coming through...

Tootsie is a fun watch that’s Criterion

The Rock is Cage and Connery kino.

>The Rock
>is it kino
it ain't on the channel, though

I showed my dad Blood Simple and he loved it. He usually hates artsy movies but that movie was accessible enough while still feeling different from standard movies.

If your movie parties are full of zoomers who are constantly on their phones though then I'd avoid it since it's a movie you actually have to pay attention to in order to enjoy it.

Robo Cop
