Can we all agree at least they have better acting and better dialogue compared to the prequels?

no.

Yes, and better cinematography.

>dialogue
not really
>acting
yes, as far as protagonists go, Ridley is a much better lead than Hamill or Hayden Christensen

Yes, but that's it and only for the first two there. TRoS is an AIDS factory fire.

Hayden is a weird guy and a not-so-great actor, but he had his retard charm, and Mark is straight up superior
Daisy is a complete nobody

>better acting
Adam Driver carries the sequels HARD. Literally the only one with an ounce of talent in that trash cast. Simply because of him it is better.
>better dialogue
I can't even remember the dialogue from the sequels. Nothing stands out.

>Soulless poster art
>Forgettable characters
>Bad or misused returning cast
>Convoluted and contradictory story
>Development hell through two different directors
>Dumb, quipy Marvel-tier "humor"
>They never said, "I have a bad feeling about this"
Disney could have literally printed money forever and ever if they had got anyone who was actually a fan of star wars to write or produce the ST.

the last jedi is the best of the sequels and is better than the the second prequel, even forgot it's name, that's how shitty it is...

>Ridley is a much better lead
>pants and looks angry off center to the camera

>They never said, "I have a bad feeling about this"
You do realize how much money the sequels made? Even the ill will that Disney instilled in the fans will disappear when they hire a semi competent director for the next slightly above average movie they make.

Yes and Adam Driver is relentlessly handsome.

She can emote very well and deliver mediocre dialogue properly. Her performance in TROS is vastly superior to Hayden's and Hamill's in three movies.

I know they made an ungodly amount of money regardless, but the viewership of ep9 was awful in proportion to ep7. There's a chart I've been trying to find that shows, for each trilogy, what proportion of people watched the sequels of the trilogy compared to the first episode of it. Basically, the sequels had an embarrassingly low retention because the movies were bad on every conceivable level, and it was stupid of them to alienate such a massive market, even if it did make a quick buck riding off the coattails of the first 6 movies and their Disney name.

>$0.02 have been deposited in your account

She's more popular than both.

>>$0.02 have been deposited in your account
Sweet. 13 more cents and I can get an AMC movie ticket in 5 days.

I would unironically love to be a Disney shill and get paid to troll fags.

Dialogue, acting, technical aspects should've all been a leap beyond the Lucas films but they hired uninspired hacks and idiots so it's all soulless trash with a marginally better shell. More of a lateral shift in tone then actual improvement.

she's a nobody in terms of impact, dialogue, presence, interesting characteristics. Obviously she is going to be glorified in modern media simply for being a main female character, but that she's never going to have the longevity of either of her predecessors.

Based debaser.

>in The Clone Wars When R2 went MIA, Anakin never stopped looking for him and when he finally found him, Ahsoka asked why go through all that trouble for just a droid and Anakin explained to her that R2 was more than a Droid, he was a Friend...
>when he walked in and killed the Separatists without any mercy but told R2 to stay with the ship
>when you are about to do some horrible deeds, your loyal dog is still with you through everything. So to preserve your dog's good image of you, you tell him to stay in the car
>Anakin told R2 to stay with the ship and then he walked in and killed the Separatists without any mercy.
>R2D2 probly saw Anakin marching into the Jedi temple with the clones during Order 66. After Order 66, Anakin got back to Padme's apartment with R2.
>R2 was doing some worrying beep sounds pretty much he was screaming internally the whole time R2 was with Anakin.
>After Obi Wan defeated Anakin, Obi walked back and met R2. R2 did another sad beep.
>tfw he knew what happened and his master is truly gone.

>You do realize how much money the sequels made?
When building a franchise, especially for Disney, the box office isn't as important as you'd think. Retail sales for Marvel products hit $41 billion for 2013 alone. Star Wars retail ate shit from TLJ onwards because crappy designs and lost interest from even die hard fans, and Disney's acknowledged that the reason they fell short of projections for retail earnings is because of Star Wars not doing near as well as they hope; and decrease in interest is the last thing you want when you spend tons of money to build theme park lands and hotels based on the property. Sequels basically fucked things up where it really matters to Disney, and there's a reason why they're backing the fuck away from the era to try and rebuild interest.

Hayden Christensen was dropped as soon the prequels ended.

lol no

I think acting might be a stretch too far, but dialogue is at least a conversation.

Filtered.

i can't remember a single line of dialogue from the sequels

R2 and Anakin's relationship is ludicrously based.

Yeah, you're right, Sequel dialogue is trash too.

1 > 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6 > Christmas special > clone wars > books > fanfiction > > > > > > > > > space balls >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Star Trek show >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Star Trek movies >>>>>>>>>>>>> BG > firefly >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> interstellar >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> event horizon >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> lost in space >>>>>>> Galaxy Quest >>>>>>>>>>> Neil Degrasse Tyson space talk YouTube compilations >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> looking through a cheap telescope >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> episode 7 >>>>>>> asscrust >> episode 8 >>>>>>> episode 9

>better acting
It's just bland instead of cheesy.
>better dialogue
lolno
sequelshit has a single quotable line
there is entire meme culture around prequel quotes

Bullshit, the sequels didn't excel at one god damn thing. I take that back, actually. They excel at one thing. Sequel trilogy excels at being for bing bing wahoo babbies and manchildren who run away when they see blood because they are immature babyfags and can't handle a deep, dark, serious kino like I can. The prequel trilogy had dialogue that reflected the inner darkness of my soul from having two Christmases since my parents were divorced, while the prequels did kiddy shit because sequel fans are fucking babies who never had to rough it in high school like real people, like me, who had to deal with bullies and preppy douchebags since they didn't understand my real power...

No these movies are unwatchable and pointless.

yes.

I have about as much respect for the sequels as I do for the dog shit on my shoe.

It is reddit, it is capeshit, it is cheeto dust, it is video games. It's nothing more than memes enjoyed by simplistic pledditors. I have ZERO respect for people who are not free thinkers and blindly enjoy the reddit memes that comprise Cuck Wars: The Search for More Money.

I'm literally screaming, slamming my arms on my desk right now just thinking about it.

I bet the Rifftrax's are gold.

I only have "they fly now" and "droid, please".

damn. it hurt you that much?

PT/OT = Glorious symphony where events repeat and struggling characters are given another chance to do the right thing. It's like poetry, it rhymes. Graceful camera work. A calm, meditative quality to each film. Good natured childish humour.
ST = Vapid nostalgia. Meaningless iconography and characterization ruthlessly twisted to turn Star Wars into a hollow money machine. Nobody learns anything. There is no tangible thematic continuity between films, which on their own have absolutely nothing to say because they're focus tested Disney garbage just like Marvel's lineup. The plot is completely disconnected from its predecessors aside from REFERENCES. Lucas's carefully constructed plot/theme structure is nowhere to be seen. SHAKY CAM BECAUSE IT'S THE 2010s NOW. Terrible Marvel quip humour.
