space started off decent enough but when everything starts to unravel, it's yikes

First season was like that. It’s my favorite season because of the atmosphere and rawness

the hillbilly episode where they raped their paraplegic mother really fucked me up when i first watched it

That was the first episode I ever saw, gave me nightmares for weeks

just got to this episode last night. Scully saw the face come out, right? Because the blonde girl said “thats the face I saw when i crashed” when they’re watching him. She’s going to stop doubting the paranormal so much now, right?

That one where some office boss was actually a giant insect that turned people into zombies and you could only see them with the edge of your eye....

I only started watching recently (never caught it on tv). I'm up to season 5 now, so much fun. When does it stop being good?

Favourite episodes so far:
Beyond the Sea
E.B.E
The Erlenmeyer Flask
Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose
Unruhe
Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man
The Post-Modern Prometheus

Least favourite episodes:
Syzygy
The Field Where I Died
Never Again

Spookiest episode:
Die Hand Die Verletzt

Skinner is the best character btw

You will never have your soul descends to the center of the Earth and escape the lava men so that can engage in a large soul-sex orgy

Special mention to Oubliette because I love Jewel Staite

>When does it stop being good?
After season 5 and the movie.

Diva Duchovny has it moved to LA and comfy atmosphere is lost. Episodes are hit and miss with more misses

Damn I'm sorry to hear that. Didn't know that there was a movie though, so I'm looking forward to that.

Just realized Inland Empire copies this

“Fight The Future” not the second movie “I Want to Believe” which is one of the most disappointing movies I’ve ever seen

It was a different time. Kids don't know what they're missing.

What was the episode where DC is being terrorized by a stink monster that turns out to just be Gillian Anderson's mommy armpits the whole time? Because that one was my favorite.

It wasn’t rape.....

>Skinner is the best character btw

Never forget

Why does this turn me on.

watching that episode right now lol

not a big fan of the ai/tech episodes though

I watched most of the first few seasons growing up in the 2000s but have only just started watching it properly for the first time. I'm about to watch the season 1 finale.

I both love and hate the show. The characters are great and I love the tone and atmosphere, but it's also incredibly dated. Normally I don't mind as a lot of my favourite media is older, but some of the tropes are qualitatively worse. Eg, the AI that took over and killed its creators in 1994.

Mostly, I get really frustrated seeing a fucking inhuman monster or whatever unquestionably murder someone at the start of every episode, but then the episode always ends as if you're supposed to be uncertain whether the monster was real or not. It's also really painful that Scully coincidentally runs off somewhere at the climax of every episode so that she never actually sees the monster.

how come in the sequel seasons he acts like a supervillain and in the previous seasons he says he does what he does just for kicks and to save himself

What the FUCK

His character was a plot device at fist. Why his characters motives inconsistent as fuck.

Originally the actor was hired to just stand in the corner and smoke and then gave him a few lines and realized he could actually act.
