Never watched a single episode of any of the seasons...

Never watched a single episode of any of the seasons. It’s all on Netflix I believe so I’m considering starting with the original and working my way through. Is it worth it? Any suggested ways of watching it to make it more enjoyable, like switching season orders?

i've only ever seen TNG and Voyager. apparently big trekkies look down on voyager but i remember it being The. Shit. on UPN back in the day. take me back to the nineties bro.

Skip STD and Picard.

Start with TNG, end after Voyager

Start with the Next Generation. It's the best show and a good introduction to the universe. First two seasons aren't he best though.

Some of the classic and nextgen episodes are unironically part of pop cultural literacy and memes. DS9 is shockingly good as it's the dark one outside the utopia. The rest can be safely skipped.

...

Only the cucks who think Deep Space Nine (snore) is the best series shit on Voyager.

It's an ok show its just Janeway is practically a Spanish conquistador

Fuck STD and Picard. Those shows are only Star Trek in name only.

Remove Discovery from that image right now

No, it's pretty much everyone.

Star Trek expert here. Voyager is good and you are a pleb

Voyager has higher streaming numbers

tng and voy are the best

Start with TNG
Watch DS9
Watch Voyager
Watch Enterprise
If you need more, watch TOS

TNG>TOS>DS9>ENT=VOY

Start with TNG if you can’t handle the first two seasons start with season 3 than watch the older episodes at you leisure. Then watch TOS then go to DS9 or VOY (though I do recommend watching them at the same time since I think it makes both far better)

start with tng. watch several episodes and intercut some tos to get some background and see how much time has passed between series.
you can watch voyager and dsn mixed (since voyager takes place in delta quadrant). some say dsn is slower and more story driven, while voyager is a bit more episodic and faster paced.
enjoy.
skip enterprise, discovery, and picard. unless you really want to see what the hate is about.

Lol you're not going to get a unified answer here, everyone has their own preferences and ways to watch Star Trek. Whatever you do though, don't watch anything with "Star Trek" in its title produced after the year 2005

honestly I would start with TOS, it's only three seasons but has some of the most iconic scfi scenes of all time and is build upon by the later series. Imo watch in chronological order, (TOS > TNG > DS9) but like others have said the first 2 seasons of TNG are pretty rough, you can skip them if you like. VOY and ENT are much more hit and miss but have some quality moments, and are worth watching too if you want more. STD and Picard are like the Disneyfied Star Wars movies, avoid like the plague

TOS is likely to slow and low budget looking for most people.
DS9 and Voyager work better if you know the lore and universe.
Therefore, start with TNG season 3 (since 1 and 2 can be bad and low tier)

skip tos
skim through TNG
watch all of DS9

>STD and Picard are like the Disneyfied
Except in the opposite direction with more F-bombs and brutal violence.

This is going to be your general consensus with slight variations. Don't watch the movies and don't watch anything JJpost.

Also it going to suck pretty bad for about 30 episodes into season 1-2 of each series.

poor jake

STD is not real Trek. STD is the disease that ruined Star Trek.

All these people telling you to skip TOS are brainlets. Start with TOS, then the 6 TOS era movies. Then move onto TNG, starting at Season 3. Don't bother with any TNG movies, they're all terrible (yes even First Contact.)

After that, move onto DS9 and Voyager. If you really need more trek after that, you can watch Enterprise, just know it's not really good and just when it starts to show promise it ends. Avoid anything that comes after. If Abrams or Kurtzman has a credit, don't watch it it's shit.

Guys guys!
Let's make a show, people not only don't watch to pay money for, they won't even pirate it for free.

TOS is a western in space with moral issues.
TNG is a detective/drama show in space with moral and ethical issues.

TNG will go the moral high ground and try to win like Sun Tzu by not fighting.

TOS they'll sometimes try to do that. Most of the time cowboy Kirk here is gonna punch some shit.

Just look up production order. For TOS, this means the episode order changes drastically from the oreiginal airing order which was retarded and introduced characters and concepts for the first time after they'd already been seen.

For TNG/DS9/VOY this means preserving crossover elements. Mainly just relevant for season 6 and 7 of TNG with season 1 and 2 of DS9 and the pilot episode of Voyager and getting movies in the right place to make narrative sense (though there's nothing you can do with Insurrection to make it truly fit right).

What I do is look up the episode on memory-alpha to filter out episodes I am not in the mood to watch and read all the cool continuity facts

I just follow this to see the essentials letswatchstartrek.com

and add the best rated episodes from trakt

Do i miss something?

Watch em all in order, and watch the movies whatever order as supplemental. Make up your own mind about them.

>Do i miss something?
Yeah, that real men don't skip episodes.
