Shot composition cut & paste isn't 'quotation'; even if it was, it's sterile and parasitic for an artist to be do. Genre fiction writers are typically subpar, same goes for filmmakers -- synthesizing his autistic librarian knowledge of film in these things retreads the same era and genres over, and over -- it's puerile, and that's the best that can be said of his 'oevre' as an 'auteur'
