So hating this show is just a meme right...

So hating this show is just a meme right? I just finished watching Season 2 and I enjoyed it so much I'll probably watch Picard next since you incels hated that too

>Absolutely based Captain Pike
>QT Number One
>Amazing visual effects, every episode is like a movie
>Great acting
>Some weak episodes (wasn't a fan of the evil AI) but the strong ones make up for it, and it's never boring
>Completely divorced from the autistic speech patterns and over-explaining from the old shows, as well as the obsolete filmmaking that The Orville still seems to be slavishly devoted to
>Actual alien-looking aliens
>Klingons actually felt like another species and not just stand-ins for angry Chinese people
>Trippy shit like the spore drive/fungus dimension and the sentient sphere

The premise for Season 3 sounds kino too. Is it just a meme that all Trekkies hate it, or is it just a vocal minority who don't like there's gays in it?

You love to be fucked in the ass dont you?

>You love to be fucked in the ass dont you?

Right, got it, so people just hate that there's fags in it.

You probably hate actual classic Trek. STD might be mediocre scifi show, if it wasn't Trek. As Trek it is utter shit. Same goes with Picard show.

Yeah I don't get it either. I feel like there's like ~100 old school Trekkies who are just assmad it isn't using cardboard sets and styrofoam rocks, but they have YouTube channels that are easy to get outrage clicks on. The show is pretty good

Are you in your 20s yet? Show is made for brainlets.

Its crazy how little backbones you zoomers have. Like they can just take a piece of shit and add ANY previously popular license and you guys want to defend it when people call it shit. Why?

I've watched all of TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT. They're all shows of a different era, you wouldn't produce a show the exact same way now as you did then, and it shows in how people act/how drama unfolds in those shows. The Orville, from what I've seen, is a 1:1 recreation of that style, and that seems to be what's attracting boomers.

>The premise for Season 3 sounds kino
it's just Andromeda but with Michael Burnham instead of Hercules

You're the one with no backbone if you're getting assblasted over someone enjoying a television production that you're too autistic to appreciate.

I think the show is hilarious.

Kino episode tbqh. Fleshed out Sarek's character

Poorly made bait. Way too overdone.

Women drivers. amirite?

>You're the one with no backbone if you're getting assblasted over someone enjoying a television production that you're too autistic to appreciate.

KEK you think only autistic people hate Star Trek: Discovery. Fun fact: Everybody hates Star Trek: Discovery.

Is that why it's been cancelled and hasn't had any spinoffs?

Haha do you honestly think any tv show that isn't insta-cancelled is automatically good?

I would think that if everybody hates a show, it isn't going to get 4 seasons, two spinoff shows and a cartoon, no.

Don't insult Andromeda like that
It's legitimately enjoyable, paced well and everyone is a Mary sue not just goons orbiting 1 perfect yass queen

>you wouldn't produce a show the exact same way now as you did then
That doesn't mean you have to produce absolute dogshit that is antagonistic towards the central concepts of a franchise.

How the fuck do poor people exist when there are replicators?

Because CBS made it the flagship of their streaming platform, so the have to pretend its a complete success, otherwise they're admitting their streaming platform is a total failure. Which would be admitting they're inches away from insolvency.

Discovery makes Lower Decks look like a masterpiece.

imagine watching a shit show and pretending to like it to get back at trolls over the internet

And that’s the power of math!

>This passed several layers of executive scrutiny and was deemed acceptable
Nepotism

Where are the poor people in Star Trek Discovery????

its something that happened in picard. STD was stupid for a host of other reasons.

>I've watched all of TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT. They're all shows of a different era, you wouldn't produce a show the exact same way now as you did then, and it shows in how people act/how drama unfolds in those shows.
You cannot ditch everything that made a franchise what it was in sequels. They need to modernize the concept, but not completely ditch it. That is just bad sequel if they did that. That is exactly what Kurtzman and co did with STD and Picard. In classic Trek federation was pretty pacifistic organization. In nu-Trek they are fine with genocide. Section 31 was extremely secretive wet works arm of their military intelligence in real trek. In nu-trek they have overt fucking insignia.

>The Orville, from what I've seen, is a 1:1 recreation of that style, and that seems to be what's attracting boomers.
Orville is true to core ideas of Trek and visual aesthetic of TNG-era.

exactly how do you modernize "if you got the fuck over yourselves we'd be cruising around in space on flying cities?"

Smells like chud in here.

I've actually never watched Discovery, but if it's anything like Picard (which I painfully watched for 4 episodes), then fuck you.

It's just you.

Fun fact : only ugly fat nerds give a shit about Star Trek

the plot was pants on head retarded

i fucking love science!!

Didn't this start out as a Trek pitch? Either way it's also similar to the Final Frontier cartoon pitch. They've been wanting to tell this story in Trek for a long time so I'm looking forward to it.

>>QT Number One
>>Amazing visual effects, every episode is like a movie
>>Actual alien-looking aliens
Most Star Trek fans couldn't give two fucks about any of these.
