Who else agrees? I like the typical nerdy Brendan Frasier playing usual quirky roles as well as the Calvinist conservative message it was subtly spreading.
Liz Hurley acting and dressing like familiar porn roles (cop with stick, teacher with mini skirt, nurse with injection, ...) added some nice early 2000s Coomer touch into it too.
Yeah this movie is subtle Calvinist conservative propaganda too. In fact, the title hero is named Calvin haha.
But I sorta get more interest in conservative messages than liberal ones lately, because the liberal lifestyle seems so empty (enjoy life, fuck around, die, end).

Brendan's wife divorced him and he had to pay her $900,000 a year in alimony despite his career basically ending in the early 2000s because he tried to tell people how he was being sexually harassed by hollywood executives (and obviously nobody cared because he's a FUCKING WHITE MALE) which got him blacklisted.
Owen Cruz
Woah what that seems like a horrible thing to happen... how does he survive?
Yeah I knew his career wouldn't last for long, because he played too often the quirky ADHD-type of nerd, which feels tiresome for audiences after a while, even though he is a great actor!
Samuel Sullivan
Guy made enough that he probably could get by alright rather than love great as he deserved. Now he’s getting roles again like the voice role on Doom Patrol.
Camden Williams
Actually when thinking again, his only ever truly successful movies were the Mummy's series. I believe his manchild persona suits to child audiences more than adult ones.
The point of Bedazzled was anyway to teach loserish manchildren to man up and get responsible in a quasi-religious manner (despite being a quirky, fast-paced comedy) and I think it deserved more praise...

I forgot that even existed and that I had watched it at least a couple times, truly blast from the past.
Yeah, she's hot in this movie and there's a lot of sexy scenes. Nothing to complain about.
Jayden Sanders
Yeah it's good and very underrated, hardly anyone seems to have watched it for some reason, was it poorly marketed or something?
Christopher Hall
If you like this version, try the original with Dudley Moore.

Saw this when I was young and Liz certainly left an impression on me. In hindsight it's probably why I like dominant Lara Croft so much.

What calvinist you polfag infested brainlets? Yes it has good moral lessons but there's barely political spectrum. God I hate you parasites taking something like this and using it in whatever dogshit pattern that suits your mental illness. You couldn't even get the name of the name of the protagonist right, what Calvin you imbecile, it's Adam Weber and Elliot Richardson. Fags.
John Campbell
Well, first Bedazzled: The guy got wishes out-of-nowhere and they all ended up horrible; so he took a lesson, worked on himself and finally found another cute girl. It's standard "you have to work hard in life to get what you want" Calvinist message. Which is a little different than say Catholic conservatism...
Similar with Blast from the Past: It's pretty much the anti-Pleasantville. While the latter is a movie about 90s kids ending up in the 50s, the former is the reverse. While the former glorifies "free spirit" liberalism, the latter makes it look soul-sucking (think of the degenerates in the rocker bar, trans hookers, bums at the park or even the divorced girl played by Alicia Silverstone). Hence it teaches you conservative values and the virtue of being gentleman and working hard. The father is called Calvin for a reason; he is also the one who taught him several languages and social etiquette.
It's pretty subtle. In fact, even "Groundhog Day" has subtle religious undertones, if you think about it.
And stop calling me a Zig Forumstard.

>The guy got wishes out-of-nowhere and they all ended up horrible; so he took a lesson, worked on himself and finally found another cute girl. It's standard "you have to work hard in life to get what you want" So that means that its not just faith (wishes) alone that gets you good things, but through faith and works. Sounds pretty catholic to me.

Literally nothing about that is explicitely calvinist except his dad being called Calvin lmao.
>God I hate you parasites taking something like this and using it in whatever dogshit pattern that suits your mental illness. The fucking irony of this, coming from a redditor like you
