Daria is mentally ill. What kind of girls live in such a room.
Literally made for a schizo. I hate all women who identify as Daria.

I think that's Jane room
>tv in the middle
why does a padded room have windows?
>has her rich daddy pay for padding her room so she can larp as le edgy artsy I live in a madhouse girl
Mike Judge understands female psychology like no other.
I'm pretty sure the padded walls were from the previous owners of the house. She just called dibs on that bedroom because she's edgy.
Pretty sure that's Rei Ayanami's bedroom
Had a female classmate in highschool in the early 00s who idolised Daria and was equally as edgy.
Ended up being the most normal woman I know and has two kids and a happy marriage, while all the normal girls at the time are now ruined roasties.
Mike Judge didn’t write this garbage
>identify as
this was never a thing. the show was made for making fun of her and it was watched that way too. Your talking like people identifying as Michael scott from the office
Normal people tend to not act like the edgy teen version of themselves in adulthood. If you act the same way you did as a teen in your mid 20's and 30's. You have a problem.
Girls who identified as Daria are nearing 40 today.
Its kafkaesque, you wouldn't get it
Was Daria even that edgy really? I rewatched the entire show a year or so ago and she struck me as essentially an intelligent and particularly academically gifted girl who was just too mature for her age. Her cynicism about the people around her (teachers, peers, siblings, parents) seemed pretty well earned to me. Most of them were either NPCs or complete idiots.
Written by a woman
Daria was a female volcel who hated normies. Pretty based if you ask me
Do you have two X chromosomes? Daria is meant to be intelligent, but she appears like the biggest pseud to ever appear on television. I'm unsure whether the writers intended this satire or if I'm misreading it, but Daria was hardly less of an NPC than her contemporaries.
and you are here
fuck are you talking about she was the person who sabotages her life completely by being obsessed with her image that's the point of the show her vapid desperation not to look vapid and how stupid that is
>but she appears like the biggest pseud to ever appear on television.
She isn't. You are a huge brainlet if you think this.
She is still immature because her way to deal with people does not work in the adult world, tho.
I suppose that's one way to put it, though she didn't seem to have any trouble attracting boys, despite her lack of femininity and fashion sense.
No, it's just that i think i can understand Daria's perspective on things. But most of all, you all seem to be discounting the fact the show in it's entirety (including the movie) is all about how she LEARNS how wrong she is to think the way she did. Quinn learns a similar lesson as her sister, but from the other end of the spectrum. People arn't simply what YOU label them at any given time. Life, growing up, it's more nuanced than that.
Daria embodies fear. Pointless fear of social judgement. You're supposed to feel bad for her and make sure you're not cowering about something that can't hurt you and making up defences like "i'm the smart one" to live with it
She was cynical and the show would occasionally show that her view on the world caused her to miss out on connecting with people. Not just that but her intelligence and not having a filter would drive a wedge between her and people she was close to, like Jane.Like if you compared her to Brittany, who is pretty much the opposite of Daria, Brittany has friends, and a relationship, even though they are shallow they are still enjoyable. Daria can't accept a shallow friendship or relationship which prevents her from having basic connections with people.
Many cases.
.
My two bit psych take: maybe they actually have a stable middle class Rockwell home life so they rebel a little (which helps you become an adult), and the most important thing to becoming successful is a stable home life.
Where the normal protesting teens have actully damaged home life’s and are trying to act like what they think cool adults act like to cover.
Daria makes the classic nerd/incel mistake of thinking that because she is so full of fear and insecurity, that others are just eloi who don't have any concerns, that's it's not possible for them to suffer, only her. Thus she prejudges them and also thinks it's ok to be a cunt to them. She is the only person on the show who is a bad person.
The show exists to show that Daria is wrong and if they are showing the same traits, to (gently) pull their fucking head out
I am also married and have a kid user. Ive been here since 2006, you will also be here forever.
Yes. Exactly. This is Daria's lesson. This is why i like the show. It's damn good show for girls TODAY to watch.
reminder this is canon
The room already had the padding when they moved in.
Thats just the social circle of life.
The average and weird people in high school secretly want to a part of the more popular group, later in life they start working out, dressing better, acting normal. Meanwhile 25-50% of the popular kids let themselves go.
The room was padded from a crazy resident who lived there before they bought the house and Daria thought it was quirky so she told her parents she didn't mind it. Look at how upset you immediately got at your liberal boogeymen when you haven't even viewed the source of your angry you cringe retard.
Why are her feet on backwards?
