Scorsese intended The Wolf of Wall Street to be a cautionary tale about a morally bankrupt scumbag

>Scorsese intended The Wolf of Wall Street to be a cautionary tale about a morally bankrupt scumbag.
>Normies think it is inspirational and celebrate the exploits of Jordan Belfort.

Does this mean Scorsese failed?

secular humanists have no morals, because they are hedonists, so they get off showing off what they call bad ppl.

The moral is redemption doesn't pay. Belfort was a big enough scumbag to make money off of telling people how to be as big a scumbag as he was. The fat Jew who confessed got to join the rest of the plebs in the rat race.

No, you only half understood the film.
It wasn't a cautionary tale, it was a proof that what he did wasn't as morally reprehensible as everyone pretended. They act all outraged and ask how anyone could do that, but given the same opportunity they'd all do it too. He was basically showing that society is hypocritical and rewards assholes; that people only hate on people like Belfort out of jealousy, that the honest few who wouldn't do the same finish last (Kyle Chandler).

Yes.

>Scorsese's next film is a western with DeNiro and Dicaprio
Pretty excited tbqh famalam

sales and marketing people love that stuff

I mean it's literally going to be about "MUH poor Indians and EVIL whyte men"

>be Scorsese
>make a living off of creating gangster idols for the masses
>make gorillions of dollars
>have the opportunity to get people to act out your hedonistic fantasies on film
>then blame the audience

When are we gonna admit this guy is a hack?

Jordan Belfort is barely middle class at this point in his life dude lol.

>Chad is mega rich, fucks a ton of stacies, and does drugs all the time but still never gets his comeuppance
Holy shit this makes me ree so fucking hard, this piece of shit gets to fuck 10s while I have to slave away at work.

None of his gangster characters should be idolized

let me guess, they will somehow make the living ancient mummy that deNiro is,be able to kick some ass in a very cringe and unbelievable way

>creating gangster idols
Double retard. They are not idols, and you show the reddit opinion that Scorsese mainly made gangster movies.
Pleb.

I think you have lost complete touch of what makes a normie.

>getting filtered this bad
The moral was he fucked everyone over, got insanely rich, fucked hot whores did all the drugs and in the end he completely got away with it and SOCIETÀ despite all its virtue signalling idolizes him and hes sellng out conferences, writing books and has a movie made about him. America loves the rich, no matter how hard they fuck them and how scummy they are. And the guy who does the right thing, refuses a massive bribe and busts the crook and gets jack shit for him. Nobody's out there listening to him give lectures, nobody wants to hear about anything he has to say because even if he is an exceptionally moral person, hes still taking the subway home. People dont want to be good. They want to be Belfort.

So either he never intended for any of his characters to be idolized and is guilty of pessimistic filmmaking and philosophy and is too fucking retarded to think people will look up people in power, or he did know they would be idolized and is a dishonest hypocrite.

Also come on dude he does mostly "fringe societal outcast" stories but a solid chunk of them are gangster movies. His best movie is Last Temptation and that strays so far from his normal filmmaking conventions it would be hard to identify it as a Scorsese movie if you didn't know already

>Also come on dude he does mostly "fringe societal outcast" stories but a solid chunk of them are gangster movies.
Absolute cretin.

>to be idolized and is guilty of pessimistic filmmaking and philosophy
Is this peak retard? We finally reached it?

fuck that's bad. is that the netflix movie? Looks like he is about to have a heart attack

Yes, it's in the actual movie.

>Does this mean Scorsese failed?
Pretty much. If you want to show something as bad you don't fucking glorify it.
Sounds fun. I've got to watch his last two films because I still haven't for some reason.

Nah pessimism is bad storytelling, cautionary tales are okay but again if that were the case then Scorsese was being a fucking hypocrite with this piece

Bay did it better

just like Scarface

It's just frat boy masturbatory fantasy.

This

Nah, there are no consequences in Scorceses movies

Kind of.
He made the movie too fun and over the top to make it any sort of cautionary tale.

Shit, in cult-like multi-level marketing scams more often than not the "CEO" of whatever office is obsessed with this movie and is probably responsible for pulling them into the scam world from the get go.

DeNiro looks like a young lad here. Is this some old movie I don't know about?

>pessimism
yes, this is peak retard

The Wolf of Wallstreet? That's Deano's favourite film

Attached: Deano.jpg (1024x673, 104.3K)

If Scorsese thought that he's completely retarded.

Half the Wall Street traders today went into finance because they saw the Michael Douglas film. Every petty criminal idolises Scarface.
