It's literally not, the character is "insane", that's the entire point. You're fucking stupid if you think it was bad, simple as. It's perfectly serviceable to what the scene required.

The first time you see this scene is really something special especially with the weight of the whole movie behind it.

I thought people were exaggerating this movie's shittyness, but it was 100% justified.

Was this cut from the movie? I've seen it several times and don't remember this at all. I didn't see it in the theatre.
